Fourth season 'American Idol' contestant Constantine Maroulis had a lot to say about the singing competition when he chatted with PopEater at USA Network and Vanity Fair's 2010 Character Approved Awards in New York. While the 'Rock of Ages' star approves of Ellen DeGeneres as a judge, he believes the show will implode when Simon Cowell leaves after this season. "It's unfortunate. He's a mogul and going to go on to greater and greater things ... but the show is really going to miss him," Maroulis tells PopEater. "I hope they just end it after this year."

If Bob Dylan had been a contestant on AI, he would NOT have even made it to Hollywood. Same goes for John Lennon. 'Nuff said.

Wow...country music doesn't count? Guess where all the crap they call music now STARTED???? Do some research...maybe you will get a clue. As for all the haters out there that couldn't even hold a candle to most of the people that were REJECTED from idol...keep hatin'...you are the ones on welfare that will never amount to anything in life, and just can't stand anyone else making it big! They are laughing all the way to the bank...what are YOU doing? Watching a show that you then talk smack about? Who is the idiot? lol

Have never understood the popularity of Idol. I watched it a few times and found it not even entertaining. It is a contest as to who does the better "whining." America needs some education as to what real singing is all about. Idol is not even a talent show, because they do not attract much talent.
The show exploits people without talent, so lets just drop it -- please -- right along some of these "reality" shows that are not real!

Totally agreed! Just take a look at someone like the late Jeff Buckley. He didn't go on some popularity contest. He worked the clubs and made it on his remarkable talent and musicianship. Wow, what a concept!
Sorry Richie, the show is an unoriginal rehash of overproduced rock anthems. It'll be in every high school in middle America in two years. As for Maroulis? Wake me when it's over.

Actually I think you all are very misinformed here. Constantine has had a very successful career after Idol. Sure it took him longer to get there. cause he had to do it all on his own. But I've known Constantine since 2006. And I he has always been supportive of Idol, despite the way he was treated. All he was doing was stating his opinion, which he is entitled to. That doesn't mean he is being disrespectful. As far as his after Idol life. He has moved on and Right now He is a Tony Nominated Broadway star. He is the star of the hit broadway musical rock of ages. Which between the sales from the show and CD from the Rock of Ages sound track, that his vocals are on. he is in the top 5 of the most successful non-idol winners. But seriously I myself don't see the show lasting after Simon's departure.

Well, the freak has her own daily show, and now she's on Idol. Both shows should end and she should join the circus.

uhm...I love your alls hostility towards Constantine...NOT...

Perfect replacement for Simon Cowell would be Piers Morgan. Both have a brutal no nonsense approach to their judging techniques.

Constantine is sore loser?

LOL I always thought Consantine looked like Gary Sinese in Forrest Gump when he had long hair and no legs.

CM may be right about Idol, but who's asking him of his opinion anyway? This cat will remain in the limbo he's in, even if he is performing in "Rock of Ages"...and that won't last forever!
Peace

I never liked him anyway. Nothing special about him. Not attractive, not a great singer. Why did anyone even bother to write the article. Desperate for news?

Simon made Idol what it is .. Just as he has made "X Factor" and "Britain's Got Talent" a huge success in England .. Idol will not survive without him.. If he wants to go home to England and concentrate on his other shows I wish him all the luck in the world .

Constantine was an amazing talent. His version of Bohemian Rhapsody was great. He should have gone to the finals.

>>>He should be thanking his lucky stars that he had such a great opportunity to be exposed to America.
He does, every chance he gets.
They asked him his opinion, he gave it. not sure why there is so much hostility here.
Constantine is in the small handful of successful Idol finalists. He made it and I for one am thrilled. Go see Rock Of Ages- It is outstanding.

Joey Petroni was asked to take Simon's place, but he turned down the gig. He said he can't be mean to people like simon. Petroni went on to say that he is a people person and that would make him a selfish person.
