Simon Cowell's Gal Says They're Engaged

The sweet sound of wedding bells is going to be ringing for music mogul and 'American Idol' meanie Simon Cowell, as he and girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy are engaged. The word comes straight from the mouth of Hussainy, who told RadarOnline.com's David Perel about the engagement exclusively. The 36-year-old Hussainy and Cowell, 50, have dodged engagement rumors for weeks. Congrats, you crazy kids! Exclusive details after the jump!

Speaking to PopEater exclusively, Radar's David Perel says, "Mezhgan is bursting with joy over the engagement and it's obvious how happy she and Simon are together."

According to the Radar report, Hussainy "was all smiles as she told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged."

Hussainy, the head make-up artist on 'Idol,' met Cowell on set years ago, and the sparks began to fly several months ago. While a wedding date hasn't been announced, Radar hints at a fast walk to the altar, saying you shouldn't "put off shopping for their wedding gift too long."

Let's just hope they save their honeymoon for when 'Idol' and 'X Factor' aren't taping.

Earlier this week, PopEater's Rob Shuter reported that a major obstacle in a possible Cowell wedding was that he wouldn't tie the knot without an iron-clad pre-nup to protect his nearly $200 million fortune.

Just last week, Cowell denied being engaged.

"When I asked him last Wednesday, when he and Mezhgan were about to fly back to L.A., I said, 'Are you engaged?' His answer was, 'Max, I'm not engaged.' That was last Wednesday," his agent, Max Clifford, told PEOPLE.

Jessica, instead of watching a dumb azz show like AI, you should be learing to spell. Open a book and learn how to spell and stop watching that show. You seem to need an education and not from TV. What grade are you in? A baby could spell better than you.

I guess he thought the other gal Terri wasn't good enough. I'd never want to be married to him no matter how much money he had. He has his fans and haters, but I think he has an over estimated opinion of himself. He seems so gloomy all the time too. He gives off bad energy!

He broke it off with his longtime gf when the baby issue just wasn't going to die with her. He doesn't want kids. She did. Thus, one has to figure Husseina is the anti-Terri answer to Cowells ideal marriage scenario. No kids, just lotsa fun between the two travellin' the world on all that dough. Gotta hand it to Cowell. Who in their right mind wants to bring up kids in the world of today. Congrats. To both. Hope it lasts.

There is not a house big enough to home an ego like Simon and a wife with I hope an ego of her own. I love Simon on AI. But, marriage.....Yikes. Good luck. Hope it works. Perhaps a remake of "The Taming of the Shrew....."

I have attended several tapings of AI and Simon is the friendliest of all the judges. He interacts with the audience, answers questions and jokes around. Randy, Ryan and Paula refused to even acknowledge audience at any of the tapings. I hope Simon has found the woman of his dreams and has a wonderful marriage.

Some of my best friends are gays and lesbians and I think Simon hates Ellen because she's gay. I keep reading he treats her like dirt. He probably does hate her because she is gay and more liked than him. People know she is funny, has a personality and some heart. He on the other hand has none. I hope his wife takes him to the cleaners.

Cindy ...Simon does NOT dislike Ellen because she is gay. He is as gay as she is. Can't one tell he is the Queen of England and a closet case gay. We can't stand Ellen as she is ugly and those big scary eyes and her butch clothes and hair cut. We love gays, but she is not worth watching. She has NO talent and should never have been selected to judge AI. It is all fixed anyway. The show is like Ellen & Simon ..it sucks ..

I realize that some people don't want children, but it's only normal for Terri to have wanted kids. Most couples do. IF he doesn't want children then why did I read a quote from his soon to be wife that she can't wait to have some? Hmmmm.

And while it's true that this is a bad world,if you want kids then have them, what a dumb excuse. You can't let fear rule your life or decions. It might be more that he's too old or selfish, or feels he'd be a bad father is the reason to not want children which is fine too. If so why not just admit it? After all he is Simon.

Are you deaf, dumb or just blind. Or just a bad judge of human psychology. Cowell is long past your (and former gf) 'baby' issues. He's NOT into 'babys'. Some are. Cowell- certainly IS NOT. I love Simon! If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have American Idol in this country, for those who watch it. As far as him being so "mean"....that's the business. He has to be that way. The winners of that contest have to be able to sing, and look the part as well. He has to criticize them, if they can't take it in that venue, they will NEVER make it as stars. I love Simon, and wish him all the best!!! I will miss him on Idol and probably won't watch it anymore. He is great!
