Andrew Koenig, best known for playing "Boner" on 'Growing Pains,' has been found dead in Vancouver's Stanley Park after a week-long search. In the wake of the family's tearful press conference, friends and colleagues have posted messages of support and sadness on Twitter, reaching thousands of fans at once. Fellow former teen star Alyssa Milano wrote, "If you know someone suffering from depression, please do everything in your power to get them help. R.I.P. Andrew.""My heart is heavy for the Koenig family," tweeted comedian Sarah Silverman.
Unable to hold back sobs during a dramatic press conference, Walter Koenig confirmed Thursday that his son Andrew had taken his own life. Walter played Chekov in the 'Star Trek' TV series and films; his co-stars and other actors in the franchise also used Twitter to express their sympathy.
"My deepest sympathies to Andrew Koenig's family," William Shatner wrote. "I will grieve with them."
"Star Trek: Next Generation" star LeVar Burton wrote: "Offering prayers for Walter & Judy Koenig as well as their beloved son, Andrew..."
"Oh my god," tweeted Wil Wheaton. "I just heard that Andrew Koenig's body has been found in Vancouver. He was only 41. My heart goes out to his family."
Koenig's 'Growing Pains' co-star Kirk Cameron has not made a statement since the actor's death, but said last week, "I am praying for his family during this time of distress and for his safe return." Reports PEOPLE, Cameron added, "Andrew, if you're reading this, please call me."

where were all these stars 2 weeks ago !?,...such a sad way for some to get their ''name'' out there for publicity !

Sarah Silverman, Alyssa Milano and others have been talking about it for a few weeks now. Trying to get people to help find him. In these cases, I don't think it's them trying to get their name out there again. not like the Haiti incident.
STEVE: That's exactly what I was thinking!!
They were out there fighting to get publicity for the death of Brittany Murphy. Micheal Jackson before that and than went to Farrah Fawcett but only after Micheal Jackson story got too boring. Where there's a death, there's a star. They're all parasites.
Such a sad ending for such a nice young man. I used to watch Growing Pains with my daughters when they were young teens, during the late 1980's. Its just a shame that an intervention was not put into place when it was realized that this young man was in serious trouble. Depression is a dangerous thing and almost always requires someone to take the extra step and get professionals involved. It does not go away on its own.
My thoughts and prayers go out for Andrew's family. May he finally find the peace that he was so desperately seeking.

I feel really bad about this. He was so wonderful in the part of Boner. I'm truly sadden by this young actor being so pained in his heart. I hope you found your peace, sorry it was that way. God Bless you and your family. I loved you in the series.

You, sir, are an insensitive asswipe.
A man has killed himself and all you and your damned ilk can do is makejokes at his expense?
You are a disgusting human being, and that is an insult to the human race!

Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. I'm the last survivng member of my family of origin. No, none of the deaths were suicide, but I've had such deep depression on some days that "the thought" has definitely entered my mind. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that the majority of us have had thoughts of ending our lives at least once or twice in their lifetime.
I'm so sorry that this talented, passionate man gave in to momentary desire to end it all. I hope his parents do not blame themselves in any way, shape or form. Such is the frailty of the human mind and emotion. Andrew and his wonderful parents are in my prayers.

You are truly an a**hole! I hope you never encounter a person as coldhearted as yourself.

My sympathy goes out to Walter and his wife. To lose a child is possibly the worst thing in this sad world and in these cases, parents tend to blame themselves..for not seeing..or not taking action, but sometimes there is nothing one can do to prevent such a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

HAVING LOST MY SON AT THE AGE OF 29 I KNOW WHAT IS IN FRONT OF THESE GRIEVING PARENTS. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 YEARS AND HIS MEMORY IS WITH ME WHEN I GET UP IN THE MORNING AND THERE WHEN I GO TO BED AT NIGHT. ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU THAT IT GITS ESIER WITH TIME, IS IGNORANT. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THIS FAMILY AND HOPE THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE PAST THIS, I KNOW THAT IS WHAT THEIR SON WOULD WANT FOR THEM.

God Bless You. There is nothing worse to a parent than have one of their children 'leave' before them. When a child passes away, the living parent does as well. The parents live on feeling lost and alone. It's horrible for you. God Bless The Parents and God Bless You Lee.
poor tiger he can bang em' like a dog, but god forbid something should tarnish his image? are you kidding me. they should put a billbard up with a rabbitt body and tigers head on it. now that would get the message across. just another young bro bangin chicks.
