Gatorade Drops Tiger Woods

Although he made a public apology last week, it looks like Tiger isn't out of the woods just yet.
According to
PEOPLE, Gatorade has ended its endorsement deal with Woods admist his on-going and highly publicized sex scandal. "We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship," said spokesperson Jennifer Schmit in a statement. "We wish him all the best."
Schmidt added that Gatorade will continue to work with the Tiger Woods Foundation.
This marks the third company to drop Woods since news broke last November that he had cheated on his wife, Elin Nordegren, with multiple women. The other two were AT&T and Accenture.
Meanwhile, Nike Inc., Upper Deck Co. and Electronic Arts Inc. are among the companies standing by Woods as the scandal continues to unfold.
Woods' partnership with Gatorade -- which began in 2007 -- previously had a hiccup last December when the company announced that it was discontinuing its Tiger Focus drink. However, Gatorade's decision was reportedly due to weak sales and not the scandal.
As we reported last week, Woods held a press conference on Feb. 19 to apologize for his actions, during which he said, "Simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in. I was unfaithful, I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable and I am the only person to blame."

Really, the thing that really makes Tiger look bad was not that he cheated but that he did it with prostitutes and bimbos and so flagrantly. He was not trying to protect his business or his personal life. I doubt that it is Elin and the children that he wants, it is all of those endorsements. He is looking very bad and not the type that anyone would look up to and thats what endorsements are about. It is pretty telling that his mom is angry at the rest of the world and not her son. You know what they say about the hand that rocks the cradle.

THE THING THAT MAKES TIGER LOOK BAD IS THAT HE CHEATED! WHERE DO YOU GET OFF SAYING IT IS ONLY LOOKING BAD COZ OF WHO HE CHEATED WITH? WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON TO SAY SUCH A THING? YOUR BRAIN IS SCRAMBLED IF YOU THINK THIS WAY. IT IS NEVER OK, NOT WITH ANYONE, TO CHEAT ON YOUR SPOUSE. PERIOD. WHAT AN IDIOT YOU ARE TO SAY SUCH CRAP. CHEATING IS WRONG NO MATTER WHAT! END OF DISCUSSION.
I think it's idiotic that these sponsors are dropping him. The fact that he cheated on his wife is between him and his wife. I could care less about his public apology...he didn't cheat on ME...he cheated on HER, and his apology should only be to her, and only if he's genuinely sorry. He's still an amazing golfer, and his sponsors should be looking at only that, not his personal cheating habits. It's not like he's an evil monster, for heaven's sake. He's clearly a bad husband, but Gatorade didn't sponsor him because of his marriage, they sponsored him because of his golfing ability, which is phenomenal.
who in their right mind wants to look at that dike and her sickening vile, demented, dispicable, disgusting, evil choice of a life style. makes me want to puke. and dont none of you weirdos right me and replie cause i dont even read them. go perform your evil choice of acts. the devil loves it when you reach that low.

WHO GIVES A CRAP about Tiger Woods?? He's got Billions of dollars and doesn't need any one or any thing. In 6 months no one will remember any of his exploits anyway.

Hey, Tige is the only dude ever - to eye a 65' putt with an 8-foot "swing" as if he actually would sink it - and get the job done. He was obviously great at what he did. Excuse me - "fabulous" is the word that fits, here. The fact that he was a moral skunk is simply a generality, and should have been quickly predicted by his dollar-driven sponsors. Golfers are notorious spouses. Well - maybe with the exception of Sorenstam, and your basic Nancy-Super-Mex types, who - she/Nancy was much adored and emulated, as she should have been. I would apologize here, to a couple of golf-guys who appear to have been steady heads and who had the basic intelligence to be as clean inside as they were on the outside - "Arnie", and "Jack". Other than that, look to the NBA, and NFL and MLB clowns for your solid-gold lists of the morally bankrupt.
Sparky.
Sure hope these two WILL just move on with their lives. The sweet kids will have enough problems with Tiger as their father. You cant be THAT self centered and be a good parent.Sad!!

Then don't click the headlines if it has Tiger Woods that easy. Tiger is a good golfer and I will keep rooting for Tiger when he returns to golf.

The only people that is still supporting this jerk are the sponsors that have already invested millions into him such as Nike', and those truly desperate golfers that knows that thier so called 'Sport' is going back to what it was before Woods........nothing

Gatorade..really, no one is going to start or stop using your product or any other product for that matter because Tiger cheated on his wife...Tiger's announcement should have been "ladies and gentlemen this is between my wife and myself, it is none of your business"

And yet another day of F'd up posting problems with AOL and Popeater. What a waste of time.

Its about time. Tiger is a pig. I can't look at him without picturing a petri dish full of VDs. He proved by his actions that he didn't care about his wife, his children, his sponsors or his reputation. I can't believe he has any sponsors left. Good for Gatorade!

Tiger will start adding sponsors once he drives off the first tee in a major turnament.

In regards to your latest press conference, Mr. President, besides the cheating on your wife issue, will there be any discussion of health care reform or a small business bailout plan?
Thank you sir.
