Marie Osmond's Son Michael Blosil Commits Suicide

Tragic news for TV and music star Marie Osmond:
Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Osmond's 18-year-old son Michael Blosil committed suicide Friday evening in Los Angeles.
Blosil jumped to his death from his downtown apartment building around 9PM, according to
new details obtained by ET Online. The Los Angeles Fire Department was quickly dispatched after receiving a phone call and found a body believed to be Blosil's upon arrival.
An autopsy on the body may be conducted as early as tomorrow, says ET.
Blosil left a suicide note behind. In it, he cited a life-long battle with depression as the reason for his suicide.
Blosil was one of Osmond's eight children.
"My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time," Marie said.
In a telephone interview, Donny Osmond told ET, "Please pray for my sister and her family."
Marie and Donny are currently on stage in the Vegas production of 'Donny and Marie.' Tonight's show has been canceled, according to reports.
Osmond and her ex-husband, Brian Blosil, adopted Michael. Following their divorce after 20 years of marriage, Michael became depressed and in November 2007, entered rehab.
"Those kinds of things are really very hard for a teenager to deal with," Osmond told PEOPLE in March of 2009. "And if he ever wants to talk about it ... he will, but it has to be their choice. It's not my choice."
She went on to say that Michael was doing quite well, saying she "couldn't be more proud of him" and that "he's got a 3.9 GPA in high school. He's looking at scholarships to some wonderful colleges."

I met Marie, and all the brothers, and their parents, many years ago...at the height of their fame. They were kind and thoughtful with the fans, and never turned down a request for autograph or picture. I have been an Osmond fan for over 30 years, and proud of it. My heart is heavy, and I will keep Marie, and the entire Osmond family, in my prayers. When someone needs my help, and I can't be there, I always say ... remember, I'll always be holding your hand, don't let go.
Marie....I'm holding your hand, don't let go.

I never thought of not being able to be with someone, but letting them know you are holding their hand, what a beautiful way of letting someone know how much you care. I will always hold your saying close to me heart.
"I'll always be holding your hand, don't let go." How beautiful is that. I hope you don't mind if I use these words. Just beautifull.
You touched my heart with what you said to the Osmond Family. To lose a child at any age is horrible. I hate these deadbeats that have to post horrible things....pray that it never happens in their families. I am sure they wouldn't want to read that stuff.
What a loving and thoughtful message you seem like a very sweet person.I have also been a fan of theres followed there success since I was 15 I will be 50 this year. My heart goes out to the whole Osmond family as well. God - Bless

Marie and Family,
My heart breaks for all of you. I know, first hand, how depression can destroy someone. Please know that God has His arms around all of you and will guide you through this. We can heal but will always have the ache.

Dear Marie,
I watched you and you're brother when I was young. Amazing talent and a wondeful family. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost a great friend, Tom Manno recently to cancer, and both my parents are gone as well. I know how devastating losing a loved one is. I wish you the very best. Be strong. You, you're family, and your son are loved )

There is no greater sorrow than losing a child. I wish I could ease your heart- but I know from my own experience that only time and love can do that. God will bless you and your family. I know we all send our greatest love and prayers your way.
