THANK YOU Linda! As a big sister to a brother who happened to be adopted, I couldn't love him any more if he had been biological. When our sister & I teased him about being adopted when we were kids, my Dad said " At least we got to pick him. We got stuck with you 2!" When he died years ago, the only thing that mattered was that my brother died.

I'm not sure about the adopted thing. I was wondering about the gay thing though, least that's what I heard.

Right on!!!!! why does that define them. Our boys are both adopted. It is obvious Luke is from South Korea and Adam is from Panama. The media brings it up when it is horrifying news also and that really bugs me.

Thank you for saying that, you beat me to it. My kids are adopted too and that is just part of their life story. They are my kids period. I'm sure Marie and her family don't deferentiate between how they became family.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought once you are adopted, then you are their child.

My response is actually for Mookie. While I am not sure Michael was gay, Marie Osmond DOES have a gay daughter.

he is not her blood I think it is interesting to note that,she may not have loved him any less but hey he is adopted,the only people who have a problem with that foot note are people who adopt makes me think that despite their words they really are threatened by the blood of the kids they adopted.

Dear Linda I may be wrong,And you might be right it do's not define them but have you ever ask them how they feel I do not know the ages of your children so it hard to say what they feel at this time of there lives but some children feel they were never wanted and wonder why there parents did not want them and why they gave them up in the first place all family will be diffrent with the Osmonds it can be all kinds of things Money ,fame being used by so many people never knowing who is a true friend or just a user for your familys fame and money.I just hope your Children know how you feel and do have love in there hearts for you and your Husband.God bless you for the love you give others

TO ALL OF YOU: Why do they have to mention he was adopted? When a biological child of a star dies, it is never mentioned it was the biological child, it just states the "daughter of" or the "son of". So there must be a reason to mention he was adopted, to give the feeling he was not as important to her or she was not emotionally attached to him. If you have a better reason to mention it, let me hear it.

I agree Linda. My five year old from Korea died at the age of five due to a severe heart defect. One idiot even said "thank God it wasn't your "real" child, that would really hurt. There is no reason at all to even "mention" he was adopted, He was her child,period,anyone who doesn't get that has either no children or for sure no "adopted" one's. I loved when Marie was asked which of her children were adopted she would always say," I don't remember. Put the one who asked the question in their place real quick, in other words, it was none of their business!!!

I think I have a possible reason..It's the old argument of genetics versus environment..They say he was depressed since Marie Osmonds divorce but she has other children as well that handled their disappointment and depression differently..The same can be said of an killer, is it environment or genetics that makes a person who they are? Just my thought on why they might have mentioned that he was adopted..

you are so correct this was her son no matter what i am a adopted daughter and when my mom died she was the mom not the adopted mom of me she was who was always mom so this needs to be forgot and he was HER SON and she is in much pain over this so we need to give space to this family an let them mourn and heal may god be with them and prayers for the entire family go from us all

Neither his being adopted or rumored to be gay are important. Maria Osmond loves all her children equally and this loss is devistating to her and her family. SHE WAS HIS MOTHER - PERIOD!

Stressing that Marie Osmond's son was adopted is merely a footnote. The fact that this bothers you is another issue. You must hold adoptions as something derrogatory since it is an issue with you. Enjoy your children and stop being one of them. Grow up.

I totally agree! I have heard Marie say when asked, she doesn't remember which of her children were adopted. She certainly never spoke about her "adopted" children. They are all her children!
