Just before 18-year-old Michael Blosil took his own life, the teenager sent a text message to a neighbor indicating there was a note for her in his room, sources told TMZ. Blosil, one of Marie Osmond's eight children, jumped to his death from his downtown apartment building around 9PM. Minutes later, in reponse to the text message, the neighbor entered Blosil's apartment to find the note. Reportedly, the note claimed the woman was Blosil's only good friend in L.A. and he was very unhappy.Law enforcement sources say the note did not explicitly mention suicide, though it spelled out things Blosil would be doing for the last time. The woman and Blosil's roommates became alarmed but had no time to seek help; they became aware of sirens and saw emergency vehicles already on the street below the apartment.
When Blosil's roommates spoke to police, they confirmed that he was sober around the time of his death, though he had struggled with addiction in the past. Following the divorce of his parents, Michael became depressed and in November 2007, entered rehab.
"Those kinds of things are really very hard for a teenager to deal with," Osmond told PEOPLE in March of 2009. "And if he ever wants to talk about it ... he will, but it has to be their choice. It's not my choice."

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE ONES THE ESPRESS THEIR SYMPATHY FOR THE OSMOND FAMILY. AND AS FOR THOSE THAT CRITICIZE THEM AND THE MORMON CHURCH MAY GOD HELP YOU ALL. I CAN RELATE TO MARIE OSMOND I LOST A SON IN IRAQ AND ONLY TIME CAN HEAL EVERY THING. IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY BECAUSE THEY ARE PERMANENTLY INSTALL IN OUR HEARTS. SO MANY HAVE SAID NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT MARIE DOING SHOWS AND SELLING DOLLS. SHE HAD TO DO ALL THIS THINGS TO SUPPORT HERSELF AND HER CHILDREN. NEVER ONCE SHE ASKED FOR ALIMONY AND HER EX' HUSBANDS. SO BEFORE OU PLUCK OUT THE MOTE FROM HER EYE TRY YOURS FIRST. AND IF YOU ARE WITHOUT SIN CAST YE THE FIRST STONE. MAHALO E MALAMA PONO. MELE AKUA...ALOHA
People are people- same feelings and life experiences- no matter what your social status is...My prayers go to the family and friends, how tragic. As a parent I cannot even begin to imagine the pain of such a tremendous loss.

Jumper and Schnarky should jump off the same building. Two a**holes in a pod.

This is a tragedy for the Osmonds or for any family. There is no place here in the face of what happened for all the vile remarks. Take your heartless selves elsewhere. God bless Marie and the whole family.

Amen !!! May we also remember the family of Andrew Koenig. These are tragedies that none of us are immune to.
Marie:
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I will keep you, your son and your family in my prayers. Please don't listen to these other fools, this is not your fault. I always believed you to be a great and loving mother to all of your children or you wouldn't have wanted them. I truly believe that. Love to you from both my husband and I. He is with God now.Just remember that.

Looks like posters Schnarky & Jumper didn't get enough time in the day room. They must have missed their medication as well.
To the Osmond family..my prayers & condolences during this tragic time for you. A loss of a loved one (no matter what the means) is a sad thing. God bless your family.

I agree if you are involved in your childs life you will see what is going on!! I had a son depressed and wanted to kill himself I was forced to follow him and talk to friend and get all up in his life I was not running all over trying to get on every show and sell crap on tv to make money !! I lost my job but I have my son he is well now and in law school. I did my part as a parent. Its all about your family nothing I mean nothing is more important. Unless your a Osmond they were old back in the day. just because you adopt does not mean your a parent and have you ever studied mormon religion its a crock of crap look it up Jesus is the only savior.

if you have never lost a child then you don't know her pain.

It is a very tragic event when a young person decides that there is nothing in life to live for. He was a member of such a large and wonderful family it is sad that he would want to leave it. Depression is a terrible disease. However, that being said, I do feel that one of his parents should have taken the time to help deal with their divorce and not take the attitude that I have read "if he ever wants to talk about it I will but it has to be his choice, not my choice". This young man had undergone rehab at the tender age of 15 and sometimes teenagers are not very good at talking about what is bothering them. He had definite depression problems that should have been addressed by an adult. Someone should have made the "choice" to talk with him and now it is too late. How very, very sad!

I have meant Marie and most of her family on many occasions. This is a terrible time for her and for her family and no one should put judgement on anyone, whos is going through such a horrible ordeal whether they are a celebrity or not. She is a human being and so what if you are sick of hearing the name OSMOND. God be with all of them at this horrible time and let them rise up and celebrate Michael's life.

In no way am I blaming Marie Osmond here, so please don't attack me for what I'm going to say. But sometimes a parent needs to pull their child aside and say, What's going on in your head?
How can I help you? I think sometimes a child wants that, but doesn't want to ask for it.

Poor Marie Osmond, now she has another excuse to go on Larry King's show and cry a river of tears on TV... that is her life. That has always been her life and will always be her life. Too bad she never had time to know her children and what they were going through. Too bad she never was able to accept this son as he was, to accept his love as he could give it, and to give him unconditional love in return. That is what kills young gay men, especially gay men trying to grow up in overly Christian families where they are not accepted and loved as their peers are.
