Lily Allen Tends to Her Dog Mabel After Vicious Attack

A vicious attack on Lily Allen's dog Mabel gave the singer a real scare, forcing an after-hours emergency run to the vet, PopEater has learned.

But all is well for Mabel, and Allen tweeted a picture of her bandaged dog. "Mabel got beaten up by bigger dogs," Allen tweeted. "She went to doggy hospital, but she's ok."

A passerby at Allen's North London neighborhood vet saw the popstar and her boyfriend Sam Cooper keeping vigil long after the attack and long after the clinic had closed to the public.

"She was doing a lot of pacing in the window," the witness tells PopEater exclusively. "She was sitting with her boyfriend, then standing, then sitting. She looked very upset."

Mabel emerged with the pink bandages on her feet, looking tender but ready for more action.

This is not the first Internet dog-trouble story sparked by an Allen pet. The songstress was reunited with her English bull terrier Maggie May after it was stolen from a van in east London for about a week in 2007. At the time, Allen took to her MySpace page to announce how "overjoyed" she was to be reunited with her pet.

Lily adopted Mabel from the the Battersea Dogs Home in 2008. Since then she and the dog have been a favorite subject for photographers.

so every person whose dog gets attacked at the dog park is a bad dog owner? i see plenty of missing pets posters. they are all bad owners also?

So glad Mabel is going to be okay. It must have been horrible and scary to have her baby beaten up like that. I'm glad she adopted a rescue dog while so many young stars go out and buy little dogs. What a good role model for adopting, showing that there are so many lovely, homeless dogs needing loving homes.

why is it when a dog is in its own yard, and is attacked (as mine was last summer) it is the attacked's fault.. my dog was laying in MY garage and the neighbors dogs came in and mauled my dog (theirs were a austrailian shepard mix and a lab mix vs my little jack russel terrier) and they tried to lay blame on me & my pet..

just because lily's dog was attacked & one was snatched from her doesnt mean lily is a bad pet owner.. its the other people who are the bad ones.

my dog was a pitbull and on his chain in my yard.But i was away from home do to katraina.Igot a call saying this heartless M.F.BEAT MY DOG W/A PIPE AND SHOT HIM, WHY? WHY ARE PEOPLE SO MEAN!!!!!!!!
