Why 'Bachelor' Jake Pavelka Made the Right Decision
Pop-Ed: All season long, the women of 'The Bachelor' -- not to mention the tabloids -- pegged Vienna as the villain of the house (well ... after Rozlyn left, anyway) and certainly the last person with whom Jake should spend the rest of his life with. And for a while, we were anti-Vienna as well, given that the obvious warning signs were there (her previous quickie marriage; her blunt, tell-it-like-it-is attitude).
But just as Jake's family did in last night's finale, we finally developed a soft spot for the 23-year-old marketing rep from Geneva, Florida -- so much, in fact, that we think Jake ultimately made the right call in picking Vienna ... and here's why:
-- He genuinely appears to be in love with her
If anything was made clear last night, it was that Jake has an obvious connection with Vienna. It may be a bit on the physical side, what with the mud fighting and all, but it's a connection nonetheless. The same, of course, couldn't be said of Jake and runner-up Tenley. While Tenley seemed like the perfect bride on paper (she's cute, she's smart and had a flawless meet-and-greet with the family), the spark just wasn't there, not even after an impromptu jump in the pool -- although maybe the fact that Jake's family also jumped into the pool had something to do with it. If it wasn't there at the finale, then it was never going to be there. Besides, at the end of the day, we can't really blame Jake, because ...
-- We're just not into Tenley
We'll be the first to admit that Tenley seems like a sweet girl. As we said, she's great on paper and is almost guaranteed to find happiness again. But like Jake, the spark just wasn't there for us, as solidified by her shrill, 10-minute crying spree at the end of the finale, when Jake broke the bad news to her. By then, we began to see why Jake would pick someone more bubbly, outgoing and, to be honest, more exciting like Vienna, who knows how to keep Jake, the audience and especially the tabloids on its toes. And speaking of ...
-- Vienna's 15 minutes are far from over
If you've walked by a newsstand in the past few weeks, you'll know that Vienna is a huge tabloid target; and since Jake picked the so-called "bad girl" in the end, things are bound to heat up even more. Regardless, there seems to be a vested interest in the couple, which was good news for the show's ratings and probably even better news for 'Dancing With the Stars,' since Jake was just named one
season 10's 11 contestants. In other words: This couple won't be fading away anytime soon. This may be the best thing Jake could have ever hoped for, considering that he's still reeling from one big mistake ...
-- He never should have let Ali slip away
From the moment she appeared, it was hard not to fall in love with Ali. She was cute; she had personality; and she definitely had a sense of humor about herself, as shown in the first episode when she accidentally ripped her dress. Throughout the season, Ali appeared to be the perfect fit for Jake, but unfortunately for him, she wound up choosing work over love, a decision she still seems to be grappling with. But perhaps it was all for the best: Jake has found his bride-to-be (the couple is reportedly still engaged), and Ali will get to find love all over again when she stars in 'The Bachelorette' later this year. And who doesn't love a happy ending?
Tell us: Did Jake make the right call in picking Vienna?

TOTALLY AGREE!!!
If Ali Couldn't stay to finish the show how can she be the next Bachelorette? I don't understand how she is available all of the sudden for the 12 weeks or so?
omg !!! i feel the same way you do !!! you are so right . Ali did start all of the Drama!!! and she is fake. something doen't add up with her.She talks one way then opens that mouth and its totally different. I dont think I will watch her eitrher.I so wish it was some one else!!!!
Yes Gia ws the best...I lost interest in the show when he packed her off.
Those of us who have been successfully married for many years can see a little of our younger selves in Jake. There is nothing wrong with wanting passion in your life and picking someone with whom you have that "spark". On the other hand, Vienna is also selfish and immature and I don't think we can just sweep under the rug the fact that she was reviled by the other women. That is very important and it will translate into problems later on with Jake's family and ultimately with Jake. I think we have another "Jason Meznick" here where, somewhere down the road, he will really regret his choice.

Vienna is a young, immature woman. Jake did not set the bar very high if this is what he is interested in. She does not even speak with proper grammer, for crying out loud! It makes her sound low class. Who says "him and I" and Jake and I's"? Jake should be very cautious taking her to any event where she has to open her mouth.

Couldn't agree with you more. Her grammar was terrifying, but that certainly didn't seem to bother him in the least. Her relationship with her father is a bit overly obsessive, her interactions with the other women were ruthless and he sill didn't care. He said she captured his "heart"? Lust does funny things to people's minds, doesn't it? Body parts get confused it appears. He said he has never felt more "heat" in any of his other relationships?! "Heat" eventually cools off, unless of course you live inside a bubbling volcano; which when considering this girl's history, may be just the case.
I, too, noticed that Vienna cannot even speak properly. Jake did not raise the bar very high. She's downright ugly, skanky and classless. I would be mortified to take her anywhere. Oh well, some men are just attracted to trash! Of course, he lost a lot of his lustre after getting to know how superficial he is. Good luck with that, Jake!
Bravo I wish you both the best do not lesson to no body god is good and he put you together this is thru love i wish that was my case may good bless you!!!!!!!

Wow, talk about someone who can't speak with proper grammar! You need some help!
Although I did not care for Vienna in the beginning, I believe he absolutely made the right choice. She looked gorgeous last night on the After the Final Rose show and adorable on Regis and Kelly this morning. They appear to be deeply in love, and I wish them both the best.

The hot sex will get old after a while and he will want someone to have an intelligent conversation with.

Love is a decision between the two people involved. Jake and Vienna , they have Lust and chemistry toward one another. I think opposites attract and Jake made the right choice.
I believe in first impressions and second changes. Vienna is out-going and honest, She was true to herself and I hope they do have their Happy EverAfter!!!

I hope Ali doesn't leave the Bachelorette seat for work this time...all kidding aside, IMO Ali's personality stinks...she doesn't seem genuine. Ali's mission appeared during the season was to sabotage Vienna instead of focusing on her attention with Jake.

I couldn't stand Ali either.... just a back-biting-b****. What guy would ever want a girl who spends all her time telling everyone else what they need to be doing? "Jake doesn't need a girl like her." "Vienna, I just don't want YOU to be on a date with Jake." Can you imagine all the gossiping that the dudes gonna have to listen to? She's totally a busybody and would serve herself (and everyone around her) much better by focusing on her own life.
Turns out Jake was true to form - an airline pilot with a roving eye picks out a Hooters Girl as his ultimate bride. Considering the classic cliche, wWhat else is there to understand?

From psychological standpoint, Jake's choice was foreseeable, but still the wrong choice. He picked lust over love, and in the beginning, that is what many people mistake -- and it is easy to due to their equal manic feeling. The "spark" will only be there for so long, especially when the surrounding environment away from the "bachelor" ceases to exist. When this happens, Vienna's nature will simply be shown from a different perspective to Jake -- which will make him question the situation. The engagement will end, and they will not be together a year from now.

How do YOU know he picked lust over love? Have you ever heard of having both!? Go back to your text books~ Seriously!
Congratulation to the couple!
I think Jake made the right choice. He followed his heart. I admire him for being strong and not letting the opinion of others influence in his decision. It is not that Viena didn't like the other girls, but the other girls didn't like her because they got jealous of the relationship Jake and Viena were building. They saw her as a threat, especially Ally, and she tried to get rid of her by putting all the girls against her. I personally believe Ally likes to manipulate people and she even tried to do it at the end when she wanted Jake to tell her to stay. Work was just an excuse and her game back fired her. If work is so important, why is she having her own Bachelorette show now? Her job is ok with it now, and is not gonna give her an ultimatum?????
Love conquers all!!!!
