Brittany Murphy Left All to Mom, Nothing to Husband

Years before she got married, Brittany Murphy drafted a handwritten will that left all of her assets to her mother. After tying the knot to Simon Monjack, she went ahead and did the same. And Monjack approved.

Monjack tells TMZ that after he and Murphy got married, the actress had a formal will drafted along with a trust. Everything she has was supposed to go to her mom, Sharon.

According to Monjack, he asked that the will include the language, "I am married to Simon Monjack, who I have intentionally left out of this will."

It's unclear how much Murphy's estate is worth, but Sharon recently put the late star's Hollywood home up for sale with a $7.25 million asking price.

Murphy was found dead Dec. 20 in her bathroom by her husband. The final coroner's report, released Feb. 23, states that she had "elevated levels" of Vicodin and drugs from over-the-counter cold medicine in her system, but no illegal substances.

Earlier, the coroner said pneumonia was the primary cause of death, with multiple drug intoxication and a low blood count as contributing factors.

i have a will that leaves my t-shirts to emily and a nigerian catholic priest , father John Atobi. Cetrified in court in front of a Judge and medalian stamped. There isn't a baptist or cop or member of yellow roadway that could lay claim to my ideas.

Simon is dumb like a fox! Everyone knows that for a will to hold up in court, a spouse has to be left at least a dollar! By inserting that statement, Brittany left it open to be challenged and most likely Simon will get everything!

So, "EVERYBODY knows"? Are you sure about that? Where did you get your law degree and how long have you been in practice? Could it be that you don't know crap as I, for one, do not consider myself part of the famed everybody. I trust that you do know that the laws on wills do differ from state to state. One thing that I do know, this latest should shut the fools up that havae been saying that he killed her.

LOL You have no idea what you are talking about. I challenge you to provide the sections of California probate law that include this tidbit of information that "everyone knows." You're full of it. People can leave whatever they want to whomever they want. Plenty of people leave their entire estates to their children, their churches, or whatever and there is no law anywhere that says you "have to" leave at least a dollar to your spouse in order for the will to stand up. Moron.

BOOWAH...You are correct unless PopEater is wrong. There was a story recently about Denis Hopper and his divorce before death. It stated that a spouse is the one person you CAN NOT leave out of your will. If I remember correctly, they are entitled to 1/3 of the estate.

I think Simon and Brittany's mom are a couple, and think they have been at some time. I find it really odd that now the two will be moving to New York together. He isn't worried about the money because he is going to get it through his nasty affair with his poor dead wife's mother. Pathetic.

When my mother died, my father, her husband of 60 years got rid of most of the things in the home and moved 5 states away so as to recover and move on. It is not so strange in my book that neither the mother or husband want to leave Calif, too many sad memories.

i agree with you totally, this was a shock at first but then i heard that mom was living with them and now i have seen more photos of mom and whatever his name is all over the place, it just doesn't seem right something is off and i too believe that they do have a relationship together

I think Mom and Simon are in this together. They never seem very broken up about any of this, then they remain living together? I find it odd that they chose that picture of Brittany to hold with thousands of other pics that are out there. I think there is much more to this than anyone really knows! Very creepy!

Please don't jump all over everyone for suspecting that something creepy might be going on here, I suspected that for awhile, it may not be true, but something weird about those two, and how do you die of a heart attack from taking Vicodin and over the counter cough medicine unless you have taken a heap of it and that's not what the coroner said, I think Brittany was under more stress than we know. Just my opinion, I could be wrong but something doesn't seem right in this whole scenario.

To say that one suspects is one thing, but to say that one KNOWS is something else again. The only way that one could know is to be a third party in the relationship and to be there taking photos of things going on. I think that Boston Blackie is right in what they say. Perhaps someday the laws on slander and libel will catch up with the internet and a lot of this so called knowledge will be punished. I have a close relationship with a son and a son-in=law. No incest is involved but we are close to each other. I wonder what some would make of that with their idle minds and loose tongues.

Maybe Brittany's husband is having an affair with her mother. I could never figure out what Brittany ever wanted with his old, unattractive looking ass anyway.
