Brittany Murphy Left All to Mom, Nothing to Husband

Years before she got married, Brittany Murphy drafted a handwritten will that left all of her assets to her mother. After tying the knot to Simon Monjack, she went ahead and did the same. And Monjack approved.
Monjack tells
TMZ that after he and Murphy got married, the actress had a formal will drafted along with a trust. Everything she has was supposed to go to her mom, Sharon.
According to Monjack, he asked that the will include the language, "I am married to Simon Monjack, who I have intentionally left out of this will."
It's unclear how much Murphy's estate is worth, but Sharon recently put the late star's Hollywood home up for sale with a $7.25 million asking price.
Murphy was found dead Dec. 20 in her bathroom by her husband. The
final coroner's report, released Feb. 23, states that she had "elevated levels" of Vicodin and drugs from over-the-counter cold medicine in her system, but no illegal substances.
Earlier, the coroner said pneumonia was the primary cause of death, with multiple drug intoxication and a low blood count as contributing factors.

Most states don't acknowledge a holographic will.

No wonder he is staying "close" to her mother. He is such a loser, I hope he does not get a penny from her estate, but her mother does not seem too bright and will probably ahve this loser (Monjack)) invest for her. So sad......

Not all people suffer grief in the same way. Some keep it very private and some beat their breasts and pull their hair and scream. Who is to say which is right?
Now some ofyou that are just plain bored, get off your butts and go find a job, volunteer, or even as Judge Judy would say...go pick up cans along the highway.

Don't say that. I am unemployed and I log on here and look on here. You can hurt other people by lashing out publically, you know. I do not want to pick up cans by the highway, and I need to earn money or I would volunteer, and if I could find a job, I wouldn't be so depressed to answer your judgemental self back. Sorry
GEE gosh in reading so many of the posts here, it would seem we have a lot of out of work lawyers posting here........yeah sure we do..........too much tv legal shows I guess.

I hope that there will be further investigation into where Brittany obtained all of the prescriptions for the meds that were found in her home. Please tell me what legitimate, health-conscious doctor would prescribe Vicodin, Ativan, Klonopin, Vicuprofen, Prozac, Topamax, Carbapazemine and Propanolol all to one little person. Is there any wonder that she died? She is obviously another sad victim of Hollywood's ridiculous and ongoing obsession with over-medication. I'm not saying that she isn't ultimately to blame for her own death - I'm assuming that she did knowingly and willingly obtain the meds but someone must have prescribed them to her and some drugstore filled those bottles. I thought doctors and pharmacists were supposed to protect people from their own ignorance and neurosis?

Does anyone else think the relationship between Simon Monjack and Brittany Murphy's mother is strange?

Maybe "leaving everything to mom" includes Simon :P

I think even Brittany would have laughed a that one!
What is so weird about leaving everything to her mother? So she never changed her will after marrying-simply restated her existing will. The assumption was her husband could care for himself. Besides, I bet there was a life insurance policy on her of which he was the beneficiary.

Hey you stupid people, this is not real life. The reality seems to be that she was a clueless drug abusing "star" who decided to take her own life by using drugs. Who cares if her husband is sleeping with her mother? This would be nothing but the norm for Hollywood. Maybe you should have such passion over the train wreck facing this nation because of our socialist President's policies. Wake up America, the Obama Change mantra is still being pushed. The only change we will see is less in our paychecks so the lazy can have a cell phone and digital television included in their government assistance.

If you believe your statement, you must be clueless yourself
