Meet Simon Cowell's Future Wife: Mezhgan Hussainy

Despite Simon Cowell's recent denials that he was planning to pop the question, Mezhgan Hussainy announced last week that he did indeed ask her to marry him and recently stepped out in public for the first time since their engagement sporting a huge diamond ring.

So who is this woman that stole Cowell's heart? PopEater takes a look into her past and reveals that sometimes "the one" has been in front of you all along.

Long before Hussainy ever laid eyes on the 'American Idol' judge, she was living in Afghanistan with her family. They fled in 1981 because her parents feared the Taliban would take her three brothers into the army, and the family spent nine months in Pakistan before receiving permission to move to the U.S., UK's Daily Mail reports.

Hussainy originally went to school to become a dentist, but her professional interests changed when a makeup artist friend needed her help at a department store event. Although she finished dental school, she got her big break as the makeup artist to actor John O'Hurley on the game show 'To Tell The Truth.'

In 2002, she was approached to become the head makeup artist on 'Idol,' where she worked specifically with Cowell and Randy Jackson.

In an interview from 2007, Hussainy dished to TV Guide Channel's 'Idol Chat' about how much she liked working with Cowell. "He's fun. He's fantastic," she said. "He's a sweetheart. He and I are friends... I can kid around with him." And what was Cowell's biggest makeup must-have? "Bronzer," she dishes. Watch the interview:

She and Cowell's relationship blossomed following his break-up with model Terri Seymour. Hussainy, 36, tells UK's Daily Mail that she is not star-struck by Cowell, adding "his bark is much bigger than his bite."

Hussainy and Cowell, 50, have dodged engagement rumors for weeks, but Radar Online's David Perel tells PopEater exclusively, "Mezhgan is bursting with joy over the engagement and it's obvious how happy she and Simon are together."

According to the Radar report, Hussainy "was all smiles as she told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged."

Cowell's publicist Max Clifford admits Hussainy is well-suited for Cowell's blunt manners. "She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He's probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I've been working with him."

Even with her new man, Hussainy isn't forgetting about her past. According to her Web site, she "hopes to educate others of the horrors that once existed for millions of people in her homeland." The FARAWAY Foundation is a non-profit organization that Hussainy set up for the women and children of Afghanistan to help rebuild schools and hospitals. She continues to work toward this cause, and she is currently working on a book based on her life experience.

So now that she's convinced him she's not in it for the money he's going to marry her. He's really got it bad for her doesn't he? He wants to believe her so bad. I predict it's going to be a short honey moon phase then all hell will break loose. You know she could marry a much younger better looking man but money talks and gold diggers run.

So Cowell is going to marry this manish woman to cover his gay lifestyle. Hope she gets a bunch of his money after the fact. I have nothing against normal gay folks, just the Simon Cowell type. He is a nothing, just rich because low IQ people like to watch his low IQ show. America has too many folks with very low IQ

I feel bad for Terry as well, but my ex found someone else and he's had nothing but problems and big problems ever since. So you never know.

This article has not mentioned that she's been married before and lived with another guy for years. She threw him out to date Simon. Maybe he's not worried about those facts but Simon deserves whatever he gets concerning this situation.
