Burt Reynolds is resting at home after undergoing quintuple bypass surgery last week at a Florida hospital, Entertainment Tonight is reporting. The 74-year-old 'Smokey and the Bandit' star planned the procedure a month ago and is currently under 24-hour nursing care where he is expected to make a full recovery.According to a National Enquirer report being released this week (and obtained by RadarOnline.com), Reynolds was told by doctors that "he would die" if he didn't have the surgery.
But Reynolds' manager, Erik Kritzer, disputes any notion that the procedure was an emergency surgery, calling early reports that the star was in dire condition "completely untrue."
Kritzer adds in a statement to WENN, "He wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and states that he has a great motor with brand new pipes and he is feeling great. Doctors plan on a speedy recovery."

My 9 year old son watched "Smokey and the Bandit" for the first time today and loved it. He wants to see it again after supper and wants his friends over tomorrow to see it again.
