Jessica Simpson 'So Disappointed' in John Mayer

Many have commented on the Playboy interview in which John Mayer compared ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson to "sexual napalm" -- including the rocker himself, repeatedly. Finally Simpson herself is ready to weigh in on the controversy, telling Oprah Winfrey, "It was so discouraging, because that's not the John I knew."
In her 'Oprah' segment Wednesday, Simpson admits that she felt betrayed by her ex and says she has yet to accept Mayer's apology. "I don't resent him," she explains, "but I'm just going to let that part of my life go."
Watch the clips:
Simpson tells Oprah she couldn't even finish the offending interview, confessing, "I couldn't read the John Mayer article. I heard about it and I saw some of the clips. I tried to read it. I was so disappointed in him ... it made me so sad."
Simpson also discusses the recent focus on her weight, which began with an over-hyped public appearance in unflattering jeans and resulted in a year of media scrutiny and a cruel NFL ad poking fun at Simpson's figure.
"The judgment of people. ... Those voices are sometimes in my head when I fall asleep," the singer tells Oprah, saying that even banal experiences like walking through an airport can spark painful moments."I was going through security, getting a pat down, and the woman goes, 'Oh, you're really not that big.' I walk away from a moment like that thinking that people really think that I'm 245 pounds."
The real problem with the attention paid to her weight, she says, goes beyond her own ego. "The sad part about it is that when everything came out, I didn't want to sit down and talk to anyone about it because I felt guilty," she says. "I felt like if people look at me and they're a size bigger, they think they're fat because of what the media was saying. I didn't want to feed into it."

"I'm comfortable with me," she says now. "I love my curves. I'm not ever going to be a size 0 and weigh 90 pounds."
Simpson is currently gathering footage for her new VH1 reality show 'The Price of Beauty,' in which she visits countries around the world, learning about local standards of beauty and the lengths women go to achieve them.
"No one else can define beauty but me," she says she's learned during filming. "Nobody's words, nobody's compliments, nobody's love -- it's all what I have within myself. I finally relaxed, and I don't care what people have to say about my weight. I think I look great."

I'm going to have to agree with her on the weight thing. Too many insecure people judging everyone else. Be healthy and like your own body, that's all the should matter. About the John Meyer thing, lol... like no one else has ever had an ex that later went around saying crap no one really cared about.

I couldnt have said it any better, geez John I am so disappointed in you as well. Kinda makes me really wonder if I will ever buy any more of his music. What goes around. Hey, there's a title suggestion for Jessica's next hit. Jessica keep doing what your're doing.
Great interview Jessica, Wishing you the best!
jessica has said some things that have made her look less than bright. BUT even if shes 20lbs over what we see, SO WHAT!!! shes hot! she has the curves in all the right places. :)
Hey BawllyRawlly, she has every right to have an opinion because her opinion is about herself and what people have been saying about her, so shut your pie hole you pig.
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell's no she started off ass a sex symbol and now she must represent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry you're wrong on the body weight. It's SOCIETY that dictates a woman NEEDS to be anorexic before people will look at her. Get real folks & admit your wrongful behavior in loving to look at anorexic women.
She's great in bed. Althought she said no one except her next husband would she her naked, yea right!

She's from Texas and she's religious. Enough said.

you're an idiot...nuff said
Hey Bob's a Texan, why don't you keep your opinion to yourself. I can ssure you no one here cares what someone like you thinks.
What??????????????????????
Just leave her alone these hollywood people like they rule the world - who cares!! They wanted Obama in office - they got it - now look where we are - lol what a joke!

@memchica - "Hollywood" people wanted Obama elected? What rock did you crawl out from under? People were mostly voting AGAINST McCain. That's the reason why Obama won - and the election was nation wide. Not just in Hollywood. Your senile war monger lost. Deal with it, a-hole.
@ O hara, yeah, so you know a thing or two about the election, but you still sound ignorant talking to people like that. Were you born in a barn????!!!!
Jeez, did you have to flash your iq so blatantly? Badmouthing the first President we've had in a decade that actually came with a positive iq.
I bet you think Palin in a genius.
LOL
Cry me a river.
I voted for Obama and would again if he were up against McCann and Palley. But let's get real. It no longer matters who is president of this country. The Federal government does not work any more. Most of these jerks are laughing all the way to the bank and screwing us.
I do believe Obama does care for the average folk in this country but no one is going to make this government work for the people.
"I bet you think Palin in a genius." Mark, this doesn't make sense. I don't think Palin would make a good president, but don't make fun of intelligence if you can't form a sentence.
