Jessica Simpson 'So Disappointed' in John Mayer

Many have commented on the Playboy interview in which John Mayer compared ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson to "sexual napalm" -- including the rocker himself, repeatedly. Finally Simpson herself is ready to weigh in on the controversy, telling Oprah Winfrey, "It was so discouraging, because that's not the John I knew."

In her 'Oprah' segment Wednesday, Simpson admits that she felt betrayed by her ex and says she has yet to accept Mayer's apology. "I don't resent him," she explains, "but I'm just going to let that part of my life go." Watch the clips:

Simpson tells Oprah she couldn't even finish the offending interview, confessing, "I couldn't read the John Mayer article. I heard about it and I saw some of the clips. I tried to read it. I was so disappointed in him ... it made me so sad."

Simpson also discusses the recent focus on her weight, which began with an over-hyped public appearance in unflattering jeans and resulted in a year of media scrutiny and a cruel NFL ad poking fun at Simpson's figure.

"The judgment of people. ... Those voices are sometimes in my head when I fall asleep," the singer tells Oprah, saying that even banal experiences like walking through an airport can spark painful moments."I was going through security, getting a pat down, and the woman goes, 'Oh, you're really not that big.' I walk away from a moment like that thinking that people really think that I'm 245 pounds."

The real problem with the attention paid to her weight, she says, goes beyond her own ego. "The sad part about it is that when everything came out, I didn't want to sit down and talk to anyone about it because I felt guilty," she says. "I felt like if people look at me and they're a size bigger, they think they're fat because of what the media was saying. I didn't want to feed into it."

"I'm comfortable with me," she says now. "I love my curves. I'm not ever going to be a size 0 and weigh 90 pounds."

Simpson is currently gathering footage for her new VH1 reality show 'The Price of Beauty,' in which she visits countries around the world, learning about local standards of beauty and the lengths women go to achieve them.

"No one else can define beauty but me," she says she's learned during filming. "Nobody's words, nobody's compliments, nobody's love -- it's all what I have within myself. I finally relaxed, and I don't care what people have to say about my weight. I think I look great."

I'll have to agree with Jessica, she does look great. People can be gorgeous at any array of sizes, as long as they are healthy and take care of themselves.

I think Jessica is more beautiful now then ever.I hate those women that weigh 110 lbs and think they are fat. I think the extra weight looks good on her.She should keep it.Alot better then her Daisy Duke days.Way too skinny

The fact that people are still beating this dead horse of an issue is what troubles me the most. She actually IS a decent singer, if someone would just LET her sing a song the way she wants to. Part of her problems stem from too many people pulling her in too many directions, and she doesn't seem to know what side is up... Her weight was never an issue, as far as I'm concerned. I actually thought she looked healthier with those added pounds. I also know we're never going to know, honestly, what she weighed during her "Mom Jeans" days, but that doesn't matter to me. Oprah is a bigger problem, on SO many levels. I can't wait for her to go away.. Can't happen soon enough, as far as I'm concerned...

If Jessica's father had any brains, he'd keep her off of Talk TV. The poor kid just can't win. Then again, what is it that she does or does she suffer from Kardashian syndrome, which is, just stand there til the flash goes off.

I also agree with Jessica, in regards to the weight topic. You have to love yourself before anyone else can truely love you. In regards to John Mayer, I didn't read the article, but it is very hurtful when someone you have loved and trusted says terrible things about you.

And about Obama, whether you voted for him or not, he is OUR president. No you don't have to agree with everything he does or says (who agrees on everything, all the time?), but I feel as American citizens it is our duty to support our president. I have found that looking for the good in somebody, instead of doting on the bad I see in them, makes ME a happier person.

I saw a very small portion of Oprah today however, both my husband and I noticed that she had a lot of red blotches and spots - large and small - around her neck and on the upper part of her chest. I was wondering if perhaps she got so upset that she broke out in hives, which happens. I know firsthand, b/c it happens to me! Perhaps I'm one of the few people out here that actually think Jessica Simpson is a pretty girl? No! Actually, she's beautiful! She has so much going for her, yet she seems so unhappy and it's so sad why it has to be that way
for her! So what if she wore the "wrong" Jeans one day? Or that she ran
off the stage b/c she forgot the words to a Dolly Parton Song. Dolly ended up giving Jess a pardon but America sure the hell didn't! Why? Is

i saw the show today and although i wish jessica the best ,i just thought oprah herself was ridiculious........i watched her for years smear michael jacksons reputation with tabloid fodder , the ominous music ,salatiously disecting his every move........after he died she actually was discussing whether or not his children were his biological children with chris rock...on national tv and laughing about it........ , never checking facts and helping destroy an innocent person who was persecuted by an ambitious district atty working han in hand with the tabloid reporters ....., who had a cottage industry tearing michael jackson to shreds...the same industry she managed to point out made money off calling jessica fat for weeks...shes so deep..that oprah
