Mo'Nique Dishes On Her Open Marriage, Hairy Legs

In Barbara Walter's annual Oscar Special, nominee Mo'Nique revealed her open marriage with husband Sidney Hicks isn't quite so open. "Let me say this," she said. "I have not had sex outside my marriage with Sidney."

But the same might not be true for him, NY Daily News reports. "Could Sid have sex outside of his marriage with me?" the 'Precious' star asked. "Yes. That's not a deal-breaker. That's not something that would make us say, 'Pack your things and let's end the marriage.'"

Even if it happened more than once, Mo'Nique said she wouldn't hold it against him. "What if it's 20 times? So what?" she said. "We've been best friends for over 25 years, and we truly know who we are. Oftentimes, people get into marriages and they don't know who they're laying next to. I'm very comfortable and secure with my husband."

So comfortable, in fact, that her unshaven legs are not an issue. "He loves the hairy legs, and if Sid likes the hairy legs, there you go," she said.

"I tried shaving one time, and it was so uncomfortable and painful," Mo'Nique said, explaining why she chooses not to shave. "I said never again would I do that to myself," she said. "I'm 42, and I'm very hairy."

We wonder if she will make an exception on Oscar night, when she is up for the Best Supporting Actress award. One thing's for sure -- although she's a favorite to win, Mo'Nique is trying not to talk about her chances. "I don't like thinking about that, because I'm big on the universe," she admitted. "I don't want to start making this speech or [think about what] I'm going to say because I don't want the universe to say, 'Really? You so sure about that?' Let's not jinx it."

What an honest and unpretentious woman! No wonder she turned out to be such a great actress; she deserves the Oscar for her amazing performance in "Precious."

Are you on drugs? She's selling herself short. There are men out here, who would treat her like a queen, and she settles for a man, who probably(more than likely) chills with and have sex with women outside of the marriage, and she settles only because he likes, or says he likes her "hairy legs?" No one, not even Monique could be as happy as she say she is in that situation. She's just too proud to tell the world about the pain she really feels!

Wow, she is faithful to him but does not expect him to be faithful to her? I have lost ALL respect for her. I had previously thought she was a great role model for women, but after reading this interview about not caring if her husband cheats on her... well, all I can say is now I have a very low opinion of her.

I AGREE WITH MONIQUE ABOUT HAIR ON HER LEGS, AS WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH HER TALENT AS AN ACTRESS. THIS COUNTRY FOR TOO LONG HAS TAKEN THE VIEWS OF GAY MEN IN DESCRIBING THE BEAUTY OF WOMEN. Monogamy isn't the end all to relationships. People can be perfectly happy and secure with themselves and not care about whether they sleep with other people or their husband sleeps with other people.

I also agree 100% with Mo'Nique on the hairy legs. When it's your body you can do whatever you want with it, shave or not.

I think Monique is a wonderful and beautiful actress and getting better. However, I am quite amazed that a woman in this day and time would be in a relationship where her man is openly promiscuous with other people. I don't want to judge her, but I know she should have much more respect for herself, her children, and other young people that look up to her than that.
