Mo'Nique Dishes On Her Open Marriage, Hairy Legs

In Barbara Walter's annual Oscar Special, nominee Mo'Nique revealed her open marriage with husband Sidney Hicks isn't quite so open. "Let me say this," she said. "I have not had sex outside my marriage with Sidney."

But the same might not be true for him, NY Daily News reports. "Could Sid have sex outside of his marriage with me?" the 'Precious' star asked. "Yes. That's not a deal-breaker. That's not something that would make us say, 'Pack your things and let's end the marriage.'"

Even if it happened more than once, Mo'Nique said she wouldn't hold it against him. "What if it's 20 times? So what?" she said. "We've been best friends for over 25 years, and we truly know who we are. Oftentimes, people get into marriages and they don't know who they're laying next to. I'm very comfortable and secure with my husband."

So comfortable, in fact, that her unshaven legs are not an issue. "He loves the hairy legs, and if Sid likes the hairy legs, there you go," she said.

"I tried shaving one time, and it was so uncomfortable and painful," Mo'Nique said, explaining why she chooses not to shave. "I said never again would I do that to myself," she said. "I'm 42, and I'm very hairy."

We wonder if she will make an exception on Oscar night, when she is up for the Best Supporting Actress award. One thing's for sure -- although she's a favorite to win, Mo'Nique is trying not to talk about her chances. "I don't like thinking about that, because I'm big on the universe," she admitted. "I don't want to start making this speech or [think about what] I'm going to say because I don't want the universe to say, 'Really? You so sure about that?' Let's not jinx it."

They work out their marriage as long as they are happy. Sometimes marriages can be funny and weird. May their marriage last much longer than many marriages.

I am not believing the NO SHAVE ITEM. This is something that is not accepted in America and most modern European countries. My God, this is 2010!!!! If it hurt to shave, she could get waxing or laser; laser is preferred as it does not hurt, is permanent, aNd expensive, but she has the funds.

Open marriage - what the hell is an open marriage? How can open and marriage be in the same sentence. Is she that desperate that she will let her husband stray, no matter who and what and when? This is not marriage, it is just a relationship that is weird.

Whether they have an open marriage is their business, not anyone elses. For whatever reason, they have decided to go that direction. There are plenty of real problems out there to worry about rather than this nonsense.

Augustus, what in the hell does a hairy-legged woman have to do with gay-dom? I mean why does gay have to enter every conversation? A certain percentage of people in this world are gay. The disproportionate amount of time spent discussing who's gay, who might be gay, etc. is annoying. Geez...just enjoy your life and get over all the anger. Leg hair is an aesthetic choice. If a couple agrees to go that way, great! If they are in conflict, then they should work it out...that's how the world turns. Work things out. Sheesh! Earthquakes, famine, terrorism, a broken democratic process, states cannot fund their programs, and we're torn up over hairy legs and gays.
