Chef Jamie Oliver and Wife Expecting Fourth Child

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools are expecting their fourth child in September, their rep confirms to the Press Association.

Oliver, best known in the U.S. for his 'Naked Chef' TV show, couldn't contain his excitement and messaged his Twitter fans: "Guess what.....I'm going to be a dad again!!! We're expecting, so happy, feel very lucky."

The latest addition will join big sisters Poppy Honey, 8 this month, Daisy Boo, 6 1/2, and Petal Blossom Rainbow, 11 months. The Olivers wed in June 2000.

"Oliver has spoken in the past of his desire for a boy in his brood. He has joked how he needs another male in the home as 'back-up' when he gets bossed around by the girls," the Press Association reported.

In his online biography, Oliver says he's never been busier in his life. "The only thing I wish I had more time for is my family -- my lovely girls. Although we now have a place in the country to spend our weekends at, so I really look forward to Friday nights when we can pack up and spend the weekends together. That's what it's all about!" he writes.

Oliver tweeted up a storm surrounding his last daughter's birth, so perhaps 'Naked Chef' fans -- and more than 300,000 Twitter followers -- can expect the same come September.

Oh please, David S. sounds like the "self absorbed" one to me? exactly how much do you even know about Jaimie Oliver to make such a determination?? actually as long as he has been a t.v. personality he has been working extremely hard at educating the British public and school children in proper eating habits, work ethic and multiple charities!! I can't think offhand of another personality in England, or even America who does more selfless and worthwhile work in the name of children and families. but I guess if it makes you feel good to bash someone you don't know and haven't taken time to know better, than go for it!

This trying for a boy mind-set is quite harmful to his daughters. If that is the only reason he keeps having children then I see this as very sad. It will make his daughters feel as if they aren't as valued in daddy's eyes because they don't have a penis. I've lived this and I know of what I speak. It's patriarchal, borderline misogynistic, sad.

What dad doesn't want a son to do things with along with his daughters who I am sure are as loved as any boy would be. What do you say to Guy Penrod who had nine boys before having his daughter. Should his boys feel as you do. I think your problem lies within yourself so don't push it off on Jamie because he would also like a son. I am sure his daughters will be thrilled to death to have a little brother.

Just how do you know that for a fact? Do you go by his public persona? Do you know him up close and personal? I doubt it...would suggest that you refrain from such crappy remarks.

Let's just hope for a healthy baby and mommy. I know a LOT of people who "keep trying" for the gender they want. Usually, it is the women who have boys trying for the girl they claim they need. These people will even go to extreme measures such as sperm selection or in-vitro with gender selection to obtain the sex of the child they OBSESS for. To each his own! Jamie could always adopt a boy if he can't produce one of his own. Lighten up folks!!!!

Dave - you are entitled to your viewpoint on this but I hope you believe me when I say I would have felt the same if Oliver had three sons and kept trying for a girl - though I sadly believe our society values the birth of a son more than that of a daughter.

I would say Penrod's sons would somehow feel their father's disappointment each time their dad didn't get his little girl. Wouldn't the boys sense he was dissatisfied, else why would he continue to seek that daughter? If a person wishes to have a child based strictly upon its sexual organs then I believe that person is not only not mature enough to have a child, he or she is having it for all the wrong reasons.

Shouldn't a child be cherished for itself and not its gender?
