'Eclipse' Will Be Steamy, Says 'New Moon' Director

Contain your shrieks, 'Twilight' fans. Chris Weitz, who directed the franchise's second installment 'New Moon,' says one scene between characters Jacob and Bella will be red hot in this summer's 'Eclipse.' "I'm looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say," Weitz tells PEOPLE. "That's going to be very steamy." The movie opens in theaters on June 30.

Although Weitz is not directing 'Eclipse' -- director David Slade is taking over -- he has read the script.

Spoiler alert: The scene includes Bella, who is on the run from evil vampire Victoria. To keep from freezing in the cold, she snuggles close to werewolf Jacob. Of course, a jealous Edward looks on and isn't too happy about it.

Weitz also revealed the other scenes he's excited for fans to see, including an intense action sequence featuring Edward Cullen's vampire "parents," played by Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli.

"I have a special interest in seeing Peter and Elizabeth tear people's heads off," he says with a laugh.

"Knowing them, and how kind of kooky and delightful they are, I'm going to find seeing them being ultra-violent very interesting indeed."

Oh, goodie... some new bit of "Twilight" news to send shivers up the spines of all those geeky girls who for some unfathomable reason think evil bloodsucking monsters are sexy. I'm old enough to remember when vampires used to be the BAD GUYS - Bela Lugosi would be appalled!

I think that Bela would be jealous. He was quite the hottie for his version of Dracula. If you read and watch any of these old stories of the vampyr, the girls usually do go crazy for them. I grew up during the Christopher Lee era of Dracula and found him to be very alluring...lol The Twilght books are by far much much better than the movies have been thus far. But I will keep an open mind and snicker when I see the girls going gaga over the newest batch of blood suckers.

I remember all the old vampire movies and I think it is truly nice for a change, they are very sexual beings so it is nice to see a softer romantic side!! I love the Twilight Series and Vampire Diaries as well!! Let us enjoy it, you don't have to partake!!

My girls and I cannot wait for this movie...I am dying to see the trailer that is being included on the Wal-Mart dvd release...supposed to have an 8 minute preview of Eclipse!! Also, I hear they will play the trailer with the new Rob P. movie Remember Me. This is going to be soooo good!

great, thats all I want to hear about. A "steamy" scene with Bella and that fcktard Jacob. Taylor and Rob aside, this is a love story of EDWARD and Bella. live with it.

after reading the script, I was so sad to see that the key scenes were hacked up. :( The sleeping bag scene wasn't written well at all - same with the "bed" scene. We'll see how it translates on the screen. Hopefully David Slade is a miracle worker. Sigh.

I Have to say that I am in my 50's & ALSO remember Bella Lagosi BUT i got the 4 book series last month & once I started them ~ I just couldn't stop reading! It is VERY ROMANTIC & just something about it & UNTil i READ the books, I didn't have that NEED to watch the MOVIE! WELL, I can't wait for ECLIPISE & Bella Lagosi & the other "olden" time vampires NEVER looked like Pattison!

I couldn't care less whateva Bella does with Jacob. We all know that BELLA LOVES EDWARD AND Jacob is just the third leg. Always disappointed when movies can't stay true to the book. There's nothing "steamy" about this scene in the book. By that point she is engaged to Edward. I won't watch another "Twilight" movie after the first. I just re-read the books.

This director should not be divulging "spoilers" on someone elses movie. While many of us have read the books, this director (whose "New Moon" suffered terribly from shoddy special effects and "Attack of the Clones" level acting chemistry) should just remain quiet until the film hits theaters. He has no role in the making of this film so he should not be giving interviews where he is describing scenes or "rating" their sexual energy just because he has seen a script. Most likely the script went through dozens of revisions between the time this director perused through it until the time the cameras rolled. Let the trailers speak for the movie, not the EX-director. This one has a new director for a reason, New Moon was weak. Maybe the new director can add some fresh blood to #3 and make the audience believe that a #4 would not be a waste of time. Bad director, shut up. New director, show us what you've got!

I just don't get this fascination. I'm sorry. It just seems weird to me.

This really bothers me. I just got involved in reading the series...after the New Moon came out. I just finished reading the Eclipse book. That wasn't a sexual scene at all. In fact, it was more about Jacob and Edward getting inside each others heads....she didn't even kiss Jacob until after. I hated her for that BTW. Personally, I think Edward should have dumped her after that stunt. But truth is.....I've gotta have them together. Why not have a steamy scene from when she has her sleep over with him at the Cullen house. Go EDWARD!!
