If 'Crazy Heart' Ryan Bingham Wins An Oscar, He Vows Not To Be at the Bar

Ryan Bingham promises he has learned from his past award show mistakes. If his name is called on Oscar Sunday for his 'Crazy Heart' hit he will be ready to hit the stage.

He vows not to repeat his Golden Globe mishap of drinking at the bar when his name was called out for the best song award.
"I guarantee I'll get it right this time ," the country singer tells PopEater. "I'm a long shot at winning, but if I do, I want to thank the people that made it happen.

"'Either way, I've been instructed to stay closer to my seat this time."

Bingham's song "The Weary Kind" from the 'Crazy Heart' soundtrack has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song and has done well in past award shows. He famously missed his chance to accept the award at the Globes when he and his agent grabbed an ill-timed drink at the show's bar.

To their horror, they heard his name announced on the television and saw 'Crazy Heart' collaborator T-Bone Burnett heading onstage alone to accept the honor.

"Me and my agent Jack we looked up at the tv at the same time and we were just like, 'oh man,' " says Bingham.

Bingham says horror subsided about the mistake quickly. "Once I saw T-bone laughing about it, I knew it was all good," he says.

Nonetheless at the Academy Awards: "If I go to the bar at all I have to time it perfectly." But most of all, he's going to have a good time with his date. "I'm going with my wife and having fun," he says. "That's the main thing."

I can't understand why there are so many fake movie stars out there. I can't stand watching Tom Cruise, Angelina Joli and even Jennifer Annisen. This is not real and I resent them and how much money they are making. As for Sandra Bulleck, she wasn't worth watching in Blind Side, even if the story was nice to watch, but the part was not even close to Meryl Streep. I don't care if she wins or is nominated 100 times. Bulleck just is not in the same acting league and don't tell me that everyone needs to have a turn at the awards. She isn't worth it.
