Simon Cowell Kisses Fiancee on 'Jay Leno'

'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell squirmed in his seat on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on Monday when the host dissected reports of Cowell's engagement to 'Idol' makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy. "Are rumors you're engaged true?" Leno asked. Cowell responded, "Are they true? Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes. And I kinda made a decision this year to make somebody happy." Later, Leno spotted Hussainy in the audience and invited her to come on stage. The two held hands as Cowell gave her a kiss. Watch:

Leno also asked about the huge ring Hussainy has been sporting on her left hand. "I thought she broke her arm," Leno joked. Cowell responded, "It's quite a big one, yes."

When Leno called Cowell out for turning red, Cowell confessed, "I am blushing."

Leno asked, "Where did you, or may have, gotten engaged?"

Cowell said, "I find this very uncomfortable. I was asleep, I think. No, look, I bought her the ring in London."

Cowell suggested Leno could be a flower girl and added that he would want a wedding "in the next 10 years."

But when asked about children, Cowell said, "I'm kind of torn because I'm a bit too old to have kids, but then again I think it would be important to have a lot of me's around in the future."

I saw the entire interview on Leno last night and Simon was acting so nervous an odd, leading me to believe that something is not quite right and this is all for show and a marriage will ever take place.

wow i said the SAME THING....something is not right. i mean, what's the hesitation with saying yes, i am engaged??? and frankly, i'd be quite offended if my fiance interacted w/me like that....something's not right, i tell ya!

The interview was bizzare. His girlfriend came on and they kissed, yet it seemed like they didn't even know each other. And Simon was so extremely nervous the entire time. Jay asked him why he was so nervous and he said it was because he doesn't like to speak about his personal life. Why did he go on the show then? He should be joyful and happy to speak about it if he was really getting married! Perhaps he's getting cold feet now? Ha ha.

To all the young ladies out there, this is why you should never "go" with a guy for more than a year and a half. If he isn't ready, serious, whatever by then about you, he never will be. It's one thing to know someone for a long time as these two did, but once you start dating it should take on a natural progression. If you don't know in the 1- 1 1/2 yrs it's probably not right. Just think about his poor ex who was with him for how long? 8-10 years? She should have moved on sooner. He knew it wasn't right but most guys will let it hang on too long. Signed..Wish I knew this advise in my twenties.

I'm with you. He is truthful, and why would he want to get all hung up in the hassel of people watching his "Loves" every mood. She may want to have lunch with male friends and then it would be "Simon Cowell's" fiance is caught cheating. Yeah, I am with him, he wants to keep it private. People need to stop giving him such a hard time. Regarding AI, if they can't take it from him, then they shouldn't be up there. The world can be a lot more harsh than he is.

I agree, I think Simon is honest and truthful and I feel that their relationship will last a lot longer than people give them credit for! I think they make a beautiful couple and I pray that GOD will bless their union!

Maybe because he is like a mean teacher bullying his students into doing their very best. And he's always in a bad mood. What has he got to be in a bad mood about? He's one of the richest men in the world and one of the most successful and powerful men in the industry. He needs a dose of reality.

My opinion is that it was very distasteful for the public to be exposed to the flagrant display of Ellen DeGeneres with Simon on American Idol Tuesday night. It was not funny and very degrading for women in general, for men in general and especially for all the teenagers that watch American Idol. There is a teenager in our home and the TV was turned because of the display.

Martha, personally I don't think it was that bad, but it was certainly uncalled for. But if you feel your daughter shouldn't watch it then I respect you and your opinion. I think Simon just wants to quiet the rumors about he and Ellen not getting along.. when we all know that they can't stand each other. Nice try Simon but it's failed. Just like this supposed marriage "sham". I don't believe that's going to happen either. It's all about image, ratings and money for him. In my opinion Idol is not that good anymore anyway without Paula. Turn the channel....I have been watching it some but then watching other shows.

I don't know who is thinking of these new skits. I thought the first one last week was kind of funny, but now that you mention it the skits aren't very family oriented. Simon is probably afraid people will say he's ruining Idol and that his new show will tank as well as AI so he's resorting to this type thing.
