Corey Feldman Grieving 'Tragic Death' of Corey Haim

Corey Haim's longtime friend and frequent co-star Corey Feldman is grieving the "tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul," he said in a statement released Wednesday. Following Haim's
untimely death at age 38, Feldman expressed grief at the loss of his "best friend."
"I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren't even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face," Feldman said.

The press release continues:
"I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans and, of course, my son, who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived."

"The Two Coreys"
Haim's troubled relationship with fellow '80s teen star Feldman was documented in the A&E reality show 'The Two Coreys.' During the show, Haim's substance abuse was often a recurring problem between the two actors. After taping the show in 2008, Feldman cut ties with Haim over his personal problems.

"I don't feel that he's a safe person to have around my wife and child at the moment, for a multitude of reasons," Feldman told
PEOPLE at the time.
On February 18, however,
TMZ cameramen caught Feldman and Haim leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood together, leading many to believe Haim was on the road to recovery. In the video, the two refer to each other as "best friends."
Haim, the former teen idol who rose to fame in 1980s classics 'The Lost Boys,' 'Lucas' and 'License to Drive,' died Wednesday morning of an apparent accidental drug overdose in Burbank, Calif., the LAPD has confirmed. He was 38.
Local news station KTLA is reporting that Haim was found in an Oakwood apartment believed to belong to his mother, who was at home at the time and called emergency responders. TMZ is reporting that four prescription drug bottles were found nearby, and that he had been gripped by flu-like symptoms in recent days.
Coroner Lt. Cheryl MacWillie told reporters that Haim died at 2:15 a.m. at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. An autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending.

R.I.P Corey. No longer will you be tormented by your demons. My prayers are with the Haim and Feldman families as they truly were brothers.

hollywood is an unfortunate place to grow up, and apparently an even more troubling place to try to work through personal demons after some time in the spotlight. not many can bridge reality with all of the bright lights and hoopla. is the glamor worth it? i'd say that's doubtful. be careful what you wish for.

Well it is true, after all, that only total douchers do drugs, especially ones who can't handle it, so...........if you're gonna do them, have your fun but good grief, don't let it take you down like a weakass punk. Pay attention kids, don't be like this guy, say no to drugs....or at least know your limitations and don't get caught up.
I would like to thank God for Corey Haim on this planet. I wish the Haim family the best through the passing of Corey Haim. I remember his movies, Fast Getaway and Fast Getaway II. My prayers to the Haim Family at this time.

When I read of the deah earlier, the first thing I thought was , Feldman will make this all about himself , back in the spotlight for Feldman. Feldman didnt want to be around his "friend" at Haims worst moments , but now he wants to talk talk talk about his buddy.
Feldman , why dont you tell us how you want to make a movie about the ," 2 Corey's " now!! And how much he meant to you,,, Phoney

it is understandable not wanting someone under the influence of drug use around a child and wife. best friend or not, i recall corey feldman giving corey haim an ultimatum of getting help for his drug abuse/use or end their relationship until he does. it is very unfair to slam corey feldman during this time of grieving or any other time either....corey feldman reached out to his friend, mr. haim just refused to take his hand. tragic for the haim family, friends and fans.
hey Yamob..
why don't you go hang around with an active drug abuser and then rejoice over how much fun it is,.....idiot...
Feldman was a true friend to Haim, at the expense of his own family he tried to help him. Who are you to judge. Feldman could have easily taken the same path as Haim, after a bumpy start he became a decent human being.
I just love people like you who think they know every single intricate detail of a relationship between 2 celebrities. What you see on TV, Movies, News is a FRACTION of what their real lives are like. You have absolutely NO place judging one or the other based on what LITTLE information you think you have. GET A CLUE a life was lost, a TALENTED life and you sit in your chair typing on your keyboard hiding behind the screen acting like your statement actually counts. If life means so little to you that you can point blame and accusations at others then maybe YOU need to take a look at YOUR OWN instead of a celebrities that you can only DREAM to live.
I thought the samething!
Why don't you shut up can't you see that the man is greiving over the loss of his long time friend, they may have always had a love hate relationship but they were always brothers and there for each other so back off and let the man greive. If he makes a show on the life of Corey Haim all the power to him let the world know exactly what he was dealing with that he no longer has too... R.I.P my friend you will always be in our hearts. Corey Feldmen sorry for your loss, grieve in peace.
I will remember Corey for the good memories he brought to the screen. Lucas is a movie that I will watch over again, the eending always brought tears to my eyes. I am sadden at the fact the personal journey he took however I choose to feel he is in a safe place now. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Then you have missed out on some good flicks....
I think he was in Home Alone. Sounds like he couldn't handle success. Its not like people didn't try to help him. They kissed his ass, ignored him, nothing helped.
Were you even here in the 80's??? If so...your life must have sucked!! They were great for me and my friends and family. Too bad for you..
God I loved the 80's.......
You hate the 80's..who cares!! I bet your under 30 and grew up watching the crap that was pushed on use then. What came after was a bunch of garbage. Without the 80's this world would not be the same and the things many take for granted started by people in the 80's.
I feel so sorry for you since you were most likely born after 1989. The 80's was a great decade for our country and popular culture. Good times. too bad you missed it. RIP Corey Haim.
Its not the fact that he was a star but he was a young person and his life was cut short at such a young ageand thats really sad my heart goes out to his family.
