Fans Pay Tribute to Corey Haim

After news broke that former teen idol
Corey Haim died Wednesday morning of an apparent drug overdose in Burbank, Calif., emotional reactions from fans began pouring in to PopEater. "Wow, I've always been a huge fan and hoped he'd be able to overcome his addiction. My prayers are with his family," writes PopEater's Facebook fan, Joi.
"So sad. Yes, he battled a drug addiction and demons, but he was still human and nobody is perfect. Really wish he would of gotten the help he needed," writes Jennie, another fan.
See what fans on Twitter and Facebook are writing about the late actor and his influence on their lives.
"I'm not going to lie - I haven't paid attention to Corey Haim for years. I was only vaguely aware of his drug troubles and related health problems, and I didn't watch 'The Two Coreys'. I was amused to see his Variety ad last year - the one where he said he was ready to work again - the way you feel when an ex you remember fondly does something stupid but sweet. And that's why his sudden death was such a punch to the gut; no matter how long Corey's been off my radar, he was my first love."

"We aren't perfect. People will always find a way to deal with their pain, legal or not legal... Too bad he didn't get the help he needed but take it from someone who is in recovery and has buried way too many friends. Stop your judgment... I hope he has found in death the peace he obviously did not find in life. RIP"
-- Becca
"It is a shame how Hollywood just forgot about him and tossed him off like a dirty rag, all before he was even barely 20 years. All of sudden Hollywood decides to pay him tribute after the fact. Corey was a victim of the Hollywood cookie cutter factory where they would turn out a new child actor, spoil him, make him famous before he's even old enough to drive and then toss him out steal the rug right under him. Hollywood is cruel."
-- Ryant
"Heartbreaking. Loved him so much."
-- Janet
"It's always sad when someone dies. I don't know why we expect celebrities to be invincible... He was so young and could have accomplished so much more... Maybe now he is at peace."
-- Leigh
"Loved watching the Two Coreys and wish he just would have let Feldman help him ... shouldn't come as a surprise but hearing about a celeb you like always is. RIP Corey!"
-- Holly
"He was my first love. I am truly saddened by this."
-- Brenda
"R.I.P. Corey Haim. I was just thinking about him too. What a great actor. It is a shame no one from 'Celeb Rehab' reached out to him. He will be greatly missed."
-- Courtney
"Sending out Loving thoughts and prayers to Corey's family and friends, it is indeed a sad moment. May his soul be at Peace."

He will be missed! Why hasn't anyone mentioned the movie Goonies? This is one of my favorites of all times.
Reply
Probably because he wasn't in The Goonies!
No one mentioned Goonies because he wasn't in that. Corey Feldman was.
If Goonies was you all time favorite movie you would realize that it was Corey Feldman that was in that movie NOT Corey Haim.
Melanie,
Corey Haim was not in "Goonies." That was Sean Astin.
Corey I was such a huge fan! My heart aches for your family and frinds at this time. My question is, how many more wonderfully talented souls have to be taken by pharmaceutical drugs for people to realize it's a nation wide epidemic! Say hello to Heaven Corey, God bless your beautiful soul.

I agree with Jim. Is this sadder than a young children killed by a drunk, or drug addict? What made him such a wonderful soul? We all face problems, he at least had his moment in the spotlight, more than most of us can say. So sick of Hollywood being blamed for people turning into drug addicts. Time to take responsibility.
