Fans Pay Tribute to Corey Haim

After news broke that former teen idol
Corey Haim died Wednesday morning of an apparent drug overdose in Burbank, Calif., emotional reactions from fans began pouring in to PopEater. "Wow, I've always been a huge fan and hoped he'd be able to overcome his addiction. My prayers are with his family," writes PopEater's Facebook fan, Joi.
"So sad. Yes, he battled a drug addiction and demons, but he was still human and nobody is perfect. Really wish he would of gotten the help he needed," writes Jennie, another fan.
See what fans on Twitter and Facebook are writing about the late actor and his influence on their lives.
"I'm not going to lie - I haven't paid attention to Corey Haim for years. I was only vaguely aware of his drug troubles and related health problems, and I didn't watch 'The Two Coreys'. I was amused to see his Variety ad last year - the one where he said he was ready to work again - the way you feel when an ex you remember fondly does something stupid but sweet. And that's why his sudden death was such a punch to the gut; no matter how long Corey's been off my radar, he was my first love."

"We aren't perfect. People will always find a way to deal with their pain, legal or not legal... Too bad he didn't get the help he needed but take it from someone who is in recovery and has buried way too many friends. Stop your judgment... I hope he has found in death the peace he obviously did not find in life. RIP"
-- Becca
"It is a shame how Hollywood just forgot about him and tossed him off like a dirty rag, all before he was even barely 20 years. All of sudden Hollywood decides to pay him tribute after the fact. Corey was a victim of the Hollywood cookie cutter factory where they would turn out a new child actor, spoil him, make him famous before he's even old enough to drive and then toss him out steal the rug right under him. Hollywood is cruel."
-- Ryant
"Heartbreaking. Loved him so much."
-- Janet
"It's always sad when someone dies. I don't know why we expect celebrities to be invincible... He was so young and could have accomplished so much more... Maybe now he is at peace."
-- Leigh
"Loved watching the Two Coreys and wish he just would have let Feldman help him ... shouldn't come as a surprise but hearing about a celeb you like always is. RIP Corey!"
-- Holly
"He was my first love. I am truly saddened by this."
-- Brenda
"R.I.P. Corey Haim. I was just thinking about him too. What a great actor. It is a shame no one from 'Celeb Rehab' reached out to him. He will be greatly missed."
-- Courtney
"Sending out Loving thoughts and prayers to Corey's family and friends, it is indeed a sad moment. May his soul be at Peace."

No matter what the reasons may be, it is sad to see that someone has past on. Cory, I did not walk in your shoes and I do not know the demons you had to fight. Still I have heard the stories of Hollywood and the horrors that it brings. They can no longer hurt you for that it is all over for you now and that you are now at peace. Rest well sweet Cory. Lets hope that God gives to all of those who did not treat you well the strenth they need now to forgive themselves for not being the friend that you so deserved to have. Forever in my heart. RIP Cory

OMG!!!! This is so freaking sad!!! How many more people have to die?? What the hell is going on in CA ??? These doctors need to wake up and stop giving people what they want. Not EVERY ache and pain needs a pill! This is a generation that is medicated .... If it wasn't for these damn pills, this man would STILL be here doing what he loved most and around the people who he loved the most.
My condolences to all that loved him!!

I can't believe that I said he was in Goonies.... I made a huge mistake. The two Coreys were both heart throbs to me as a teenager. I will miss him:( Hollywood forgets about people and that isn't right. We all have issues and people deal differently! R I P Corey!

This is such a sad, sad tragedy! I heard about it when I woke up this morning. I was shocked beyond words at first. I grew up watching him and Corey Feldman (The Two Coreys). I must say that my favorite movies were The Lost Boys, License To Drive and Silver Bullet (everyone must've forgotten this one). My heart breaks for his family, friends and fans. I send my condolences to his mother, family, friends and Corey Feldman(as well as Corey Feldman's family)! Such a talented actor, beautiful soul and handsome man gone way too soon. REST PEACEFULLY COREY!

God Bless the totured young soul. What is it going to take to make people realize that drugs do nothing but destroy lives. Anyone that tries to get someone to take drugs isn't your friend, they are not cool, they are setting you up for a short, sad life. Given a choice to go back in time I'm sure this handsome young man would never have touched them.

I was saddened to hear of Corey Haims passing. I did not know him personally, but my heart did crush for him from afar when I was young. I am sadder still by the way that some people express themselves as reaction to his passing. Respect is appropriate when someone loses a loved one. I only wish for some peace to those that really knew him and are grieving.
