'Flash Forward' Star Welcomes Baby Girl

Actor Joseph Fiennes and his wife, Swiss model Maria Dolores Dieguez, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on Monday, his rep tells PEOPLE.

The couple announced the pregnancy last fall, saying they were "utterly thrilled."

Fiennes, who stars in ABC's 'Flash Forward,' married the former Miss Switzerland contestant last summer in Tuscany.

At the time, a close friend said, "She's three months pregnant. They kept the news quiet until Maria reached the three month mark, but now they are telling everyone."

Fiennes, whose brother Ralph is also a famous actor, is clearing his busy schedule, so he can help take care of his first child.

Since the beginning of the year, the busy actor has been filming a series of movies back to back. He is best known for his role as William Shakespeare in 1998's 'Shakespeare in Love.'

She was born in Switzerland on January 5, 1982. Her parents are originally from Spain. Which makes her nationality Swiss and her heritage Spainish.

The onlw way she is swiss is if her spic parents were vacationing there when she was born. She is definately hispanic.

Amazing. She could also be Italian. The names are similar and she was also married in Tuscany. Get it. Just because she participated in a Swiss contest does not mean she was born there. If a Woman is born in Idaho and moves to Florida and a few years later enters the Miss Florida contest does not mean she is from Florida. DUH!
