Richard Belzer Accused of Apple Assault

Richard Belzer, best known for his role as Sgt. John Munch on 'Law and Order: SVU,' found himself on the wrong side of the law this week after being accused of assaulting an Apple employee.

According to the Daily News, the 65-year-old actor reportedly entered the electronics retailer's store in New York's Upper West Side and approached 21-year-old Apple employee Milan Agnew. Agnew claims that Belzer proceeded to grab, shake and choke her, while yelling, "I need help!"

Agnew called police to report the assault, but when they arrived, Belzer brushed the incident off, saying that he was "just joking." Despite the alleged attack, Belzer was not charged with assault, angering members of Agnew's family.

"My granddaughter is petite, just 5-feet-2 and she's a dancer, so she doesn't have much body to her," the young woman's grandmother, Anita McKnight said. "Where does this man come off putting his hands on her?" Agnew told McKnight, "He didn't just touch me, he choked me and really scared me."

Jonathan Fox, who witnessed the attack, believes that Belzer received preferential treatment from the police because of his celebrity status, saying, "If it was one of us, we'd be locked up right now."

Witnesses say that following the alleged assault, Belzer acted as though nothing had happened, shaking hands and waving to fans.

No, she isn't...and if that's how you read, you are sorely in need of a pair of glasses!

The article states her age as 21. Her HEIGHT is 5 feet, 2 inches, which where you must have gotten the figure of 52.

Either get a pair of glasses. or learn how to read!

After I'd posted the above, I noticed that there a foot symbol between the 5 and the 2, which means you WERE referring correctly to her height rather than her age, as I'd originally thought.

Rich, I am with you 100 %. I would do the same if he assaulted me and, if Jeff doesnt like it he can step up if he likes and help. NOBODY has any right to put hands on anybody else like that, but then I would not expect anything less from a piece of HOLLY WEIRDO crap like Belzer.

Give me a break. It sounds like he was trying to be funny and was not threatening. If she is a stripper at night, she should be able to get her 15 minutes of fame from this and we will all be sick of her name in the end, ie Octomom.

Well Trish the only way to find out is to get those store security cameras rolling & see what really happened. If it is true, she should absolutely press charges against him and those police officers for NOT doing their job. No one has a right to assault anyone for any reason.
