Simon Cowell Reportedly Tying Knot in September

Although 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell joked on 'The Tonight Show' recently about getting married sometime "in the next 10 years," it seems the wedding is going to be much sooner. 'Idol' stylist Miles Siggins told Fancast.com that Cowell and his girlfriend Mezghan Hussainy are planning to wed in September. "I was kind of surprised," said Siggins. "I knew they were dating, but I was surprised that they got engaged [so quickly]."

Cowell's rep would not comment, saying, "Simon's private life is his private life."

Earlier this week, Cowell squirmed in his seat on 'Jay Leno' when the host dissected reports of Cowell's engagement. "Are rumors you're engaged true?" Leno asked. Cowell responded, "Are they true? Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes. And I kinda made a decision this year to make somebody happy." Later, Leno spotted Hussainy in the audience and invited her to come on stage. The two held hands as Cowell gave her a kiss.

Hussainy announced in late February that Cowell did indeed ask her to marry him and recently stepped out in public for the first time since their engagement sporting a huge diamond ring. Siggins also dished to Fancast that the engagement ring cost over $400,000 (a bit lower than the reported estimate of $750,000).

She and Cowell's relationship blossomed following his break-up with model Terri Seymour. Hussainy, 36, tells UK's Daily Mail that she is not star-struck by Cowell, adding, "his bark is much bigger than his bite."

Hussainy and Cowell, 50, have dodged engagement rumors for weeks, but Radar Online's David Perel tells PopEater exclusively, "Mezhgan is bursting with joy over the engagement and it's obvious how happy she and Simon are together."

According to the Radar report, "[Hussainy] was all smiles as she told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged."

Cowell's publicist Max Clifford admits Hussainy is well-suited for Cowell's blunt manners. "She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He's probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I've been working with him."

Someone should tell Simon (and Kara too) that their shoulder butts on Idol looks prearranged, cheezy, and stupid. Plus, his head is too big to fit within TV camera's angle of view.

You obviously don't understand Brits. He makes that show, and without him it's not going to work. I guess no one cares if you watch it or not. He's made all his money in the record/music industry so he must know what he's talking about.

Simon has (in secular terms) a visionary gift. It's best paired with a person who has the Mercy gift to soften the black and white, truth at any cost personality of the visionary. I pray they are well matched and that they honor each other. I know nothing about her but I follow him on idol and other shows. I know something of his personality type because I have the same one. The last few shows I've seen him use his truth in a somewhat softer way, and I'm encouraged by that. I wish them all the best.

Well, I am glad to see that someone has finally made him "happy in love". I've noticed that Simon has lost some weight lately,too. Maybe she has something to do with it. For a while there, I thought the only thing that made him happy was cars, money and gray sweaters. They make a nice couple.
