Corey Feldman Not Attending Corey Haim's Funeral

After much speculation, Corey Feldman has announced that he will not be attending Corey Haim's funeral in Toronto. In a lengthy statement (via
E! News), Feldman reveals he'll "remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial. As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice."
"In the days following my best friend Corey Haim's death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me. I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey's funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey's funeral on Tuesday a small private affair," he continues.
"Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family's wishes, I have decided not to attend ... I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community," Feldman also said.
Haim, who died last Wednesday morning of an apparent accidental drug overdose in Burbank, Calif., at 38, had a troubled relationship with fellow '80s teen star Feldman, which was documented in the A&E reality show 'The Two Coreys.' During the show, Haim's substance abuse was often a recurring problem between the two actors. After taping the show in 2008, Feldman cut ties with Haim over his personal problems. Only recently had the two been spotted together, leading many to believe they'd patched up their issues.
The loss was a definite blow to Feldman, who said he was grieving the "tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul."
"I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren't even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face," Feldman
said in a statement last week.
Haim's rep tells E! News the Los Angeles memorial event will take place around April 2.

It's good to have the show off the air, period.

Wow, Corey Feldman, you're such a great friend. There is no excuse for not attending Haim's funeral. You can rationalize it all you want, but the bottom line is that you're being incredibly selfish. What's the matter, you couldn't fit it into your busy schedule?

JPX..Shut the F up idiot!
Geez, what a cold fish you are! Who are you to say why he isn't attending? A funeral is a very private event. Not everybody deals with loss of a loved one the same way. Not everybody wants to go, cry uncontrollably, in front of the whole world, especially the media. He is dealing with this loss in the one way he feels his friend would appreciate. He wants to show his love for his brother in a way he could honor him, showing his lifes achievements and happy times. Go back to church and learn a little bit about humanity and worship. Rip in Corey!!!
Typical hollywood beahvior don't you think, life is all about ME!
jpx ? i bet in real life your a moron huh ? what part of Cory Haims mothers wishes to keep Cory's funeral a private affair , ( meaning no one but FAMILY ) did you not understand ??, please, now just sit down and shut up if you cant respect Cory family's wish !!!! it has the nothing to do with Cory Feldman busy schedule or lack of feelings of his lose of a brother
Totally agree with you JPX!..Corey F. has mentioned that Corey was a brother to him and Mrs. Haim was a mother to him...so he is obviously thought of as "family". One would like he would be on that "very private affair" list...somethings up here.
JPX, would you dishonor a family's wishes? If so, what a jerk you would be. The man is only doing what the family wants, honoring their request for privacy.
He was never a friend, if he does not go to the funeral. Selfish people these actors are. I guess Feldman does not know where to get drugs in Canada.
Wow all the people who didnt read the article saying crap about Feldman....he plainly stated Haims family asked it be private to direct family only. He in other words was asked to not attend as its just blood family as per the mother request..Please idiots read the words
Jack Ass!
As usual Feldman proves his a bigger idiot than I could have imagined. Pathetic! His letter is a joke, his statements are a joke, HE IS A JOKE. Though the loss of his 'best friend' has definitely put him in the media, which he is milking to the fullest. Such an idiot.
Actually, I believe that Corey F was NOT invited. I have heard that they actually were not that close near the end and Corey H mother is not fond of Corey F - actually can not stand him.

JPX - you need to R-E-A-D! Corey Haim's family decided to have a small family ONLY funeral - no invited guests.

Wow Feldman what a great friend you are.
Feldman is a tool.
Why all the fuss over a dead drug addict? One less is a great start!

Hmmm, what' s worse, a drug addict or a sphincter such as yourself?
Me thinks you!!! Piss off you dung beetle!
Shemp......you hit the nail on the head, I agree
Both Corey's are Jewish. I am not sure what Corey Feldman means about, "Their strong religious belief's?" because I saw a picture of Haim where he has a tattoo on his upper arm. Typically that is against Jewish belief's, but I am wondering if he was a "Reformed Jew?" Which is more liberal on the spectrum of judaism.
I wonder what the resaon really for Feldman not to go? Maybe there is the issue of the expense in travel? Maybe he wanted Mrs Haim to pay his way? I don't think Cory Feldman is doing a whole lot better than Haim was doing. Maybe a little better, but he probably has a budget he needs to adhere to.

Just to let you know both Corey's are not Jewish. Feldman is a Jehovah Witness which don't really believe in funerals. They have wakes to "Celebrate" someones life.
I suspect that Corey Feldman is a practicing Buddhist. Look at season two of "The Two Coreys" and notice the recurring Buddha bust in Feldman's house.
