The Rielle Hunter GQ Interview: Talking John Edwards Affair, Sans Pants
For the first time, Rielle Hunter is opening up to GQ about her tumultuous affair with John Edwards, a tryst that would eventually be the end of his presidential and political aspirations. Hunter, who also appears in a mildly-exposing photo shoot, says that she and Edwards were intimate from the very beginning, and goes into specific detail about their first encounter and how things played out after that, plus the "compassion" she has for Elizabeth Edwards. Details after the jump, and get the

On Breaking Her Silence: "I feel comfortable talking now, because Johnny went public and made a statement admitting paternity. I didn't feel like I could ever speak until he did that. Because had I spoken, I would have emasculated him. And I could not emasculate him.... He's very supportive of me talking now....
"It's been four years. It's hard to know that people are out there speaking over and over and over again untruths. Lies. Consciously going out there and spinning the truth. Using me and Johnny and our relationship to make themselves look better, to play victim, or to get money."
On Their First Night Together: "I had never experienced anything like what was flowing between us. I sat on the other side of the room. I wouldn't go near him....There was sooo much attraction and sooo much...I want to say love, but it wasn't love at that point...it was just this, this magnetic force field like I had never experienced. It terrified me. And, um, I eventually walked over to his side of the room. [laughs] He was pretty relentless."
On His Marriage Woes: "Well, I was aware of it from the get-go. He doesn't lie to me...and well, first of all, infidelity doesn't happen in healthy marriages. The break in the marriage happens before the infidelity. And that break happened, you know, two and a half decades before I got there. So the home was wrecked already. I was not the Home Wrecker."
Thinking Edwards Won't Lie to Her: "He's not afraid of me. He'll tell me anything and everything.... He has no fear that I'm going to abuse him. And I believe what happened in his marriage is, he could not go to his wife and say, 'We have an issue.' Because he would be pummeled.... Most of his mistakes or errors in judgment were because of his fear of the wrath of Elizabeth.... And you know, the wrath of Elizabeth is a mighty wrath."
On Elizabeth Edwards: "Oh, my God, I have such compassion for her. I really do. I mean, especially when you have terminal cancer... I watched my father die of cancer. It's heart-wrenching to me. But it's also really sad to me, her unwillingness to take responsibility for her part in the marriage."

if she isn't a home wrecker, what is she then? and why is she putting the edwards' marriage issues out there? she just wants to extend her 15 minutes of fame. i admire elizabeth edwards for her grace and inner strength that she has shown thru all of this.

So she hates the pix -- so who told her to pose with no pants on? Only one word for this one - skank.

Creepy looking skank, too. She has that "if I can't have you no one can" look.

This lady has some nerve. How dare she blame Elizabeth for her husbands affair. Elizabeth was trying to hold her family together. She isn't the person who cheated. Had her husband wanted to be with someone else, he should have been a man and divorced her. Instead he slept with this home wrecking whore AND knocked her up. The press needs to stop giving this whore any amount of attention. She is disgusting and a SAD excuse for a woman. I feel sorry for that child and what he will deal with as he grows up.

It looks like the bleach took over this one's brain. She obviously wasn't taught to not touch what doesn't belong to her. Now she's screaming foul over the pictures that she willingly posed for, the same ones that just confirm what most already thought.
If John Edwards can't see how skanky and wrong this is, maybe he should have a reality check. His WIFE deserves better than to have to deal with this garbage.

Let's hope that the daughter doesn't turn out as skanky as the whoremother. The fact that both of the little girl's parents are human waste, it doesn't bode well for the daughter. May she escape the evil of her parents.

Lisa Jo Druck - I don't know whether to laugh or throw up after viewing your pictures and reading your interview. You don't deserve to use Elizabeth Edwards name or try to evaluate her. She's on a much higher intellectual and spirtual level than you.

Dear Mistress of John Edwards
You look like you are posing for Playboy. You 'cried' to B. Walters? What, did YOU not pose for those pictures or are they from John's personal stash? In regard to you and what I think of you...join the Tiger Woods gals. That IS the category you belong in. Don't kid yourself that you are better than them, you are not!

Why do those picture and interview remind me of Fatal Attraction?

O.K.,....everyone wants to blame the "other Woman"...but a man doesn't go to a dairy when there are cows in the barn reading to give all the milk he needs!!!

It is so improper for this girl to take sides against a wife. Whatever happened in the marriage before she appeared is none of her business.
Most men claim their marriages are not working in an effort to gain ground with the new person. Men are constantly seeking something new. But a man under public scrutiny should know better and have a bit more self respect, if what Hunter says is actually, true, that he was relentless.
After all is said and done, John is just a man.
