Sean Penn Remains In Haiti: 'As Long as This Camp Is Here, We'll Stay Here'
Sean Penn has had his fair share of time in the media spotlight for everything from his impressive acting resume to his on-again, off-again relationships with some of Hollywood's hottest leading ladies, but it's his charitable work in Haiti that's making headlines these days.
The actor has announced that he will remain in the devastated country until mid-April, assisting in relief efforts at one of the country's largest refugee camps.
The actor, who recently co-founded the Jenkins-Penn Haiti Relief Organization, has been in Haiti since about a week after a January 12 earthquake devastated the country. Penn's organization has provided not only food and medical supplies to some of the estimated 1.3 million Haitians left homeless by the quake, but the group has recently opened a clinic to help victims of sexual assault, a crime that has become increasingly prevalent since the disaster.
Penn told the Associated Press, "These people are going to have nowhere to go, by and large... The efforts that we've seen ... have been extraordinary – down the line. But this is an impossible kind of situation," adding, "As long as this camp is here, we'll stay here. When this camp's not here anymore, then we'll have to be where we are accessible to people."
Penn has long been active in social and political causes, speaking out against the war in Iraq and lending his support to the LGBT community and gay marriage initiatives. Despite the major commitment he's made to the Haitian relief effort, Penn says that his decision came easily. "I saw ten minutes of news and we started organizing."

Um, hello? Have you been to any Stores?
I will be impressed when a famous person works for the people who need it in the United States! And I am not talking about those who threw money away to those in New Orleans, they had a choice to leave, yet they figured (correctly) that the people would worry about being politcally correct and lavish all sorts of money on them. I am talking about middle class areas that get hit with disasters! Like the huge snow falls in Michigan, areas hit by tordados, and areas OTHER than New Orleans that get hit by hurricanes, where are the celebrities then?

Sean I believe that you were tricked by Obama just like you were tricked by other world leaders. Barack Obama is the most conceited man in the world. He and his politician buddies lie and can’t tell the truth. If they told the truth they’d be discovered for what they are. Arrogant and ignorant. Obama moved to the mainland U.S. only 30 years ago. This is why he doesn’t know (or care) about our history, traditions and heritage. He thinks we have “58“ states and can't say the Pledge of Allegiance or know the words to the "Star Spangled Banner." He is an expert in alarming people in fictions of his own imagination. The most gullible people are the people who voted for him. Can't you get it through your thick skulls it is not Republicans vs. Democrats. It is sanity vs. insanity.
they should keep him and take obie . and biden, and peloci and reid keep them all they could use the health care bill , ours is fine
