Sony Signs Michael Jackson's Estate to $250M Recording Contract

Expect to hear a lot more Michael Jackson music in the coming years.
Sony has signed the late King of Pop's estate to a recording contract that guarantees $200M and could be worth up to $250M,
TMZ reports.
The deal stipulates that there will be seven projects over the next 10 years that include never before released Jackson music.
Sony is set to release an album of MJ's in November. The contract includes the already-released 'This Is It.'
"During his life, Michael's contracts set the standard for the industry," John Branca, the co-executor of the Jackson estate, said in a statement, according to the AP.
"By all objective criteria, this agreement with Sony Music demonstrates the lasting power of Michael's music by exceeding all previous industry benchmarks," Branca continued.
"We're dedicated to protecting this icon's legacy and we're thrilled that we can continue to bring his music to the world for the foreseeable future," Sony Music's Columbia Epic Label Group chairman Rob Stringer said of the negotiations.

Lori- Estate in the green. Long time. If King owed you money, you should have put in a claim. Or are you awaiting probate? LMFAO!!!!!

When will the Jackson Clan quit sucking the life ot of him, he's already gone. I hope they haven't brainwashed the three kid's yet, so there strong enough to tell then NO MORE...........

Shersfun - They are his family. Rightful heirs. If to you, or anyone that constitutes "sucking the life out of", so be it. Why is it that some (actually most) posters can't "suck the life out of" English grammar? Or "suck the life out of" their own affairs, versus thinking the worst of others? I'll bet that stems from people thinking the least of themselves. There is no doubt that Joseph, Katherine, and entire Jackson clan love, and miss Michael. In lieu of tragedy, will do all they can to aid with proper growth, and grief counseling for his children. King has great legacy. It must be fulfilled. Legacy will reign....FOREVER!!!!!
They should just let him rest in peace already, and stop trying to make more money off The King of Pop!!!!

The family signed the contract to release the songs right? His big family is all gonna cash in from their dead family memeber's work. It's cool seeing never before seen work, but his family is doing the most.

Why would Sony do this...MJ spoke out against their injustice so why would you ( MJ's fans) help Sony capitalize on his death!

The money will go to his estate which means his children will benefit from all the hard work Michael did while he was alive. I am glad they are keeping his legacy going. It's the same way they kept Elvis' legacy going and Lisa is now a very rich woman off the money the estate made after his death. I wish everyone would just quit the hating. Michael was an amazing human being who was lost much too soon.
