Jesse James Asks Sandra Bullock for Forgiveness

Under increased scrutiny over claims he's been unfaithful, Jesse James has issued a statement apologizing to his wife Sandra Bullock for causing "pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension." The reality TV host says he alone is to blame for the scandal, although he does not admit to specific details. He also claims the "vast majority" of reports are false.

He ends the statement, issued to PEOPLE, by asking for forgiveness. Read It:

"The vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded. Beyond that, I will not dignify these private matters with any further public comment. There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me. It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way. This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me."

The controversy around allegations concerning James was launched by tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee , who told In Touch Weekly this week that she and James had engaged in an 11-month affair, "including five weeks of sex."

According to the interview, McGee claims the affair began when she sent James a request to be his "friend" on a social-media Web site. She tells the magazine that the pair had sex "two or three times" the night they met.

A source tells PopEater that In Touch actually called Bullock's publicist on Monday to warn the actress about the bombshell story.

The 'Blind Side' actress reportedly then moved out of the family home just as the story hit the tabloid racks. James was spotted Thursday wearing his wedding ring while dropping of his children at school. There has been no statement by Bullock, who has not been seen in public for days.

Less than two weeks ago, James teared up as Bullock accepted the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in 'The Blind Side.'

James met Bullock in late 2004 when the actress arranged for her godson to tour the set of his hit Discovery show, 'Monster Garage.' They soon began dating, quietly, and Bullock publicly acknowledged that they weren't the most conventional pairing. He the tattooed biker and she the Hollywood starlet.

Bullock said to critics, "There are people who look very innocent, loving and churchgoing who cheat on their spouses, don't take care of their children and are horrible to humanity."

Defying the odds, they tied the knot on July 16, 2005, in a sunset ceremony near Santa Barbara. More than 300 guests were on hand, even though they weren't told a wedding was going to take place until after they arrived.

Sandra deserves so much better than all of this. Have watched her grow as an actress and a lovely woman. She should hold her head high, and leave for a better life.

It seems, most men cheat. The only line we see, is between the ones we know about and the ones that still have their hidden. What a shame.

When Kobe Bryant cheated on his wife a number of other NBA player were interviewed and asked about the cheating that goes on in marriage but especially with regard to millionaires in sports. The response of one seasoned veteran stuck with me when he said:

"Every time I'm tempted to cheat on my wife, I look at her then I ask myself, is she worth everything I have......my children's respect, my wife and everything I've worked for including my money and the answer is always "NO!!!" and the desire goes away really fast.

Too bad this hasn't occured to more people who have cheated or are contemplating an affair.

I really wish that Jesse would have thought about that before he hurt such a wonderful person in Sandra Bullock. Not to mention, his kids love her too. When people cheat they don't understand that a lot of people get hurt. I didn't want to believe that the rumors were true until his statement. I really thought the other woman was looking to get her 5 minutes of fame. Sandra has done so much for New Orleans, we just LOVE her here. I know people that have met both Sandra and Jesse and had nothing but good things to say about them. But to see the way they looked at each other, I believe they really love each other. I can't understand why he would do this to her, the person that truly loves him, his kids. They seemed to have it all. I actually feel bad for the entire family. I'm sure he'll live to regret everything he's done. I hope that Sandra can get over him and move on. She is an amazing person with SO MUCH to offer. I only hope the next "love of her life" won't take advantage of her kind soul.And I hope the press will leave her alone to work on moving on.

Of course, the tabloids love gossip...and Sandra Bullock seems like a truly nice person...while this is sad all the way around, I can't help but wonder what InTouch and this McGee whore were thinking to do this in the manner they did. DID THEY FORGET THERE ARE CHILDREN INVOLVED??? Couldn't she have approached Sandra and handled this like a woman? Jesse should have had more respect for himself and his family. Why should she forgive him? She's backed him in the matter of his custody battle with the porn star ex when it came to his daughter & she's been a good & faithful wife & this is how he repays her? No-she shouldn't accept anything from him. She can't even trust him long enough to go & shoot a movie w/out him cheating & if he does it once he'll do it again the minute she is away shooting another film with the idea in the back of his mind that if she forgave him once, she'll continue to do it. This guy's got some nerve & Sandra should cut him out of her life for good. He won't change- no matter what he says. You deserve better Sandra, don't be fooled by this loser.
