Adam Dell has been identified as the father of Padma Lakshmi's infant daughter, Krishna, PEOPLE reports. Lakshmi gave birth on February 20 but did not disclose the identity of the baby's father to the media. Dell, a venture capitalist and brother of Dell Computers founder Michael Dell, is attempting to work out visitation rights with the 'Top Chef' host.
Dell, who divides his time between New York and Austin, wants "more time and involvement with the child," a source said.

Padma is a beautiful woman but now daysd it seems that anyone who hosts any kind of show on cable is a celebrity. Who cares who the baby daddy is?
Reply
Was it really necessary for the public to know who the Daddy of Padma's baby was? Even though she is a public figure, she doesn't owe any of us an answer to that question.

I totally agree- it's noone buisness & she should not have been pressuered to name him.
I thought the baby da da was a turkey baster....

LOLOL Me too.

She named her baby girl after a male Hindu deity? Yet another celebrity who has to pick a really strange name for her child - are they all trying to outdo each other for who can pick the oddest name?
Reply
Why not? She is of Indian/Hindu descent. It's not like she was just doing it to turn heads; it probably has some cultural meaning to it for her.
Aw man.I was still holding out for Tom Colicchio...

Cindycer, unlike most celebrities, the name chosen for the baby at least fits the mother's ethnic and cultural background. She didn't pick an odd name just for the sake of being different.

another single mom raising another screwed up kid - money won't buy a real childhood - maybe the kid will get a good male nanny

gs,
Just because she's a single mother doesn't mean that she will have a screwed up child! I raised both of my children by myself and one is in college and the other will be going to college after high school, this fall. On behalf of all of the single mothers out there, shame on you!
Padma = Lotus... Lakshmi = the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity in Hindi/Buddhist(sanskrit)... Padma is just doing in her culture and spiritual preference what is normal.... explore the world, read a book or something.

Frankly it is no ones business who the father is. I have four children and in the case of one, no one knows who the father was and they never will. My child does, besides the man is dead for several years now.

Padma who????

They always want visitation when it's time to pay support. Yet they are so scarce when the woman is alone and pregnant. It's always a month after the baby is born and they know it's time to pay up that there is a sudden interest. If he wanted to be a father to this child it started when she was pregnant not after the birth. Just another douche bag.

Sorry, but choosing "Krishna" as a name is the same as a Christian naming their baby girl Jesus or a Muslim calling their daughter Mohammed. Very strange.
Reply
@cindycer - Naming a girl Krishna is not at all like naming a girl Jesus or Mohammed. If you were Indian or knew something more about India than the little knowledge you have (that Krishna is a male deity), then you would know better. Krishna (with a lengthened 'aa' sound at the end) is a regular Indian girl's name that does not raise any eyebrows, at least in India.
not it isn't that was her perogative to choose to name her daughter that like I was almost named Melissa but my mother heard the name courtney in a maternity store and fell in love with it and the rest is history and if Adam is involved in Krishna's life it doesn't matter that him and Padma aren't married or even living together doesn't neccessarily mean that the baby will be a screwed up child
