Sorry, Paul Abdul fans. The former 'American Idol' judge won't be appearing on 'Star Search.'EW.com reports that negotiations for the 'Straight Up' singer to host the revamped show and act as judge have halted.
ABC, however, is still planning to bring 'Search' back on the air.
Abdul has largely been absent from the small screen since vacating her seat on 'Idol.' She hosted VH1 'Divas' last September, and there has been talks of her joining 'So You Think You Can Dance?' and even Simon Cowell's upcoming American version of 'The X-Factor.'

This pill popping drunk. She has been a dissappiontment for a long time now I used to idolize her. But meet her on five different occassions,from tucson to LA, and she continued to dissappoint me. She really is a horrible person. And the storyies of drinking and pill taking are very true plus the reason why she goes through so many husbands and personal assistants.

Doesn't surprise me that ANOTHER deal fell through for Paula. She doesn't understand that she is a has-been and no one wants her. When she left Idol she said she had many offers -- I haven't seen anything go through for her except maybe a SMALL part in something. Idol is doing great without her and better with Ellen there. Her best bet is to stop talking to the media saying she is going to do this and that and stop making a fool of herself! Stay home Paula with your meds and dog. Your dog is the only one loving you these days.

ouch guy, lay off of paula, obviously she has been through enough and if she has other offers or not...she's trying i would like to see you try to land a job like that, you all know how showbiz is and paula is not the hottest thing out there to be wanted for host, yes, but give her a chance how would you feel if someone told you noboby loves you or wants you around it's b/c of people like you and all these other rude bloggers, that make people want to drink or pop a pill. SO lighten the f**k up and give her some respect and support!

I miss Paula on Idol. The show was more interesting with her there. I love Ellen but they should have kept Paula. American Idol is just not as good with out her.

I agree. I miss her on AI..although I love Ellen too! Paula is sweet and soft-hearted with the contestants. She seems like a beautiful, caring, human being. If she has personal problems, they are HER personal problems. Still love her and her music.
please bring paula back to tv - I cannot look at one more lesbian on tv - we have ellen oprah susie rosie tyra wanda enough of them already i will not let my 12 year old daughter watch them - what kind of role model are they? go to the logo channel - paula is talented straight and beautiful just what i want my daughter to grow up as

greatest thing to happen to me this year was for them to replace Paula with Ellen, now I can devote the time I spent watching this show doing other more productive things BECAUSE I enjoyed that goofy little Paula and I refuse to watch yet another queer on TV, there are tooooooooo many already. Pull some of them and put more people of color and other races and stop pushing queers in my face. I'm certainly not perfect by any means, but this freakin' planet can't survive with some guys dic in another guys ass or some chick with her head stuck between another womans legs. Nope, wasn't designed that way and anyone that thinks it can work like that is a damn fool. The best word that describes that thinking is "perverted".
