Rosie O'Donnell Planning Return to Daytime TV

Watch out, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Rosie O'Donnell is headed back to daytime TV.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed reports that the multiple Emmy-winning host has teamed with Dick Robertson and Scott Carlin for a syndicated talk show that would launch after Oprah Winfrey's exit in fall 2011.

Showbiz 411 first broke the news yesterday, with sources claiming that O'Donnell was overheard at a New York restaurant talking about a deal that is "almost done" to return to daytime.

The news should come as little surprise to daytime followers, considering the overwhelming success she had as host of the 'Rosie O'Donnell Show.' The show ran from 1996 to 2002, and won the famous funnywoman a slew of awards, including six-consecutive Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

In Sept. 2006, O'Donnell returned to daytime as a panelist on ABC's 'The View,' and was the subject of much controversy, including a highly publicized feud with Donald Trump. A few months later, she engaged in an on-air spat with co-host Elisabeth Hasselback over the Iraq War, which led to O'Donnell's abrupt and permanent departure from the show.

Recently, O'Donnell filmed guest spots on a number of popular TV series, including Lifetime's 'Drop Dead Diva,' 'Nip/Tuck' and the HBO comedy 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.'

Seriously? Three failures so far didn't tell you anything, Rosie?

You had your own show and became so rude to guests, people stopped watching. THEN - You were on the View and couldn't handle when anyone stood up to you and you couldn't steal the show from BahBwa WahWah (Old people will know what that means lol. THEN you had whatever that variety show was and NBC cancelled it after the first night. The FIRST night ... lol. That's rich.

No one wants a show from you - not because your gay, Ellen ruins your theory on why people don't watch you. But because you're a pompous rude overinflated ego has been. Give it up.

I agree with you, I love Ellen and I really do not care if someone is gay or not, but Rosie, no. Loud mouthed bully that she is. Not funny anymore, she is to means and self absorbed.

You have to give her credit for brass balls. It will be another big fat flop..just like her magazine and her so called marriage. She is so full of herself that she can't understand that we do not like her let alone want to watch her. I remember her way back when on that old talent show and she was not funny then and is not funny now. I still shake my head about her being allowed to adopt those kids.

Good luck to most of the posters here who are so mean and rude yet have the nerve to find fault in others who are exactly like them.
What ever happened to wishing people good luck and success? In this case Rosie helped a lot of people. She put many through college and if you do not think Ellen did not learn anything from Rosie you are wrong.
By the way-you do not have to watch the show but do you have to be so rude?
