Rosie O'Donnell Planning Return to Daytime TV

Watch out, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Rosie O'Donnell is headed back to daytime TV.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed reports that the multiple Emmy-winning host has teamed with Dick Robertson and Scott Carlin for a syndicated talk show that would launch after Oprah Winfrey's exit in fall 2011.

Showbiz 411 first broke the news yesterday, with sources claiming that O'Donnell was overheard at a New York restaurant talking about a deal that is "almost done" to return to daytime.

The news should come as little surprise to daytime followers, considering the overwhelming success she had as host of the 'Rosie O'Donnell Show.' The show ran from 1996 to 2002, and won the famous funnywoman a slew of awards, including six-consecutive Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

In Sept. 2006, O'Donnell returned to daytime as a panelist on ABC's 'The View,' and was the subject of much controversy, including a highly publicized feud with Donald Trump. A few months later, she engaged in an on-air spat with co-host Elisabeth Hasselback over the Iraq War, which led to O'Donnell's abrupt and permanent departure from the show.

Recently, O'Donnell filmed guest spots on a number of popular TV series, including Lifetime's 'Drop Dead Diva,' 'Nip/Tuck' and the HBO comedy 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.'

These posters are unbelievable. Do none of you remember the generosity of Rosie? She gives and is still giving. She has given millions to charities. It's a shame that none of you can say one nice thing about her. Her show was on for six years and would probably still be on if she didn't decide she wanted to leave. I just have to wonder how perfect you all are to be talking about her the way you do. One last thought. If you don't like a program, change the channel. Don't damn the darkness, turn on the light!

Can't wait till they cancel her "new show" after it proves to be a MEGA failure ! ;0))))
The network will see a lot of money from her show for a few months, simply because some of the people will tune in to watch her FAIL.... once again.
The network is smart,they know how to make money off of LOSERS .

Have you ever looked at her smile? It is so fake. Looks like she is forcing/faking the smile. Used to love her but can't stand her now. She is rude and overbearing!!! What happened to her? She used to be funny.

Rosie is the best. You can catch roe on sirius radio in the mornings. what a great show. she is truly an entertainer. so funny. YOU rock rosie.

Thats were she can stay on Sirius radio, luckily I don't have it. She is mean, vicious and self absorbed and its time for her to go away. She had her time in the sun and misused it. Why should we listen to her and make her rich again. People, don't forget we are the ratings makers, if we don't watch her, she has no ratings. Then it is bye, bye.

Oh no not Rosie again. Have these people scrapped all the loosers out of the barrels and only have her left? She is just an overweight carpet munching meatball. What is she going to do test all the meals that the cooking show host produce? Believe me she is just another Katie Curic-- you know nobody really wants her but they keep trying.
These are just examples of why I record my shows and watch them later. I can miss all the bs these exec try to force us to watch. I'm not sure what she had to do to deserve this gift but my stomace turns just thinking about the possibilities.
All you guys out there remember if you take viagra and experience an erection lasting to long all you have to do is imagine Rosie naked and your problem will be solved!!!!!!!!!!

I really did like Rosie when she had her own show,, but since she has failed at just about everything she has tried to do. What makes her and her sponsors think she can make a go of a new show. People just don't like her anymore. But, I will wish her best of luck.

She has gotten bitter and mean since her first daytime talk show ended, but while her show ran she was not that way. I will give her a chance to remember that daytime talk is for entertainment, not a forum for your personal rants. If Evil Rosie emerges, the ratings will take care of that and she will be off the airways again.
