Star Jones 'Recovering Well' After Cardiac Surgery

Former 'View' panelist Star Jones had heart surgery Wednesday related to a rarely-performed surgery she had three decades ago after developing a thoracic tumor, a rep confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.

"On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones," the statement read. "This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers."

In 2003, she underwent gastric bypass surgery and subsequently lost 160 lbs.

Jones has been Tweeting about faith in recent days, but hasn't posted any new messages since earlier this week.

"Be blessed y'all. Remember your greatest weapon is PRAYER because it is the key to heaven; but FAITH unlocks the door!" she wrote on what appears to be here official Twitter page, later adding, "It's clear that God is trying to tell me something...& I plan to listen. My birthday is in 10 days...so I'm giving myself a special gift..."

Did I not hear her swear, while on the TV show The View, that she had NO surgery for losing weight? She claimed she did it without help from surgery.
