A Culture Club Reunion Next Year? Depends on Boy George's 'Mood'

He isn't promising anything, but Boy George has said that his former band Culture Club may reunite in 2011 to mark the three decades since their formation.

"I think we could do a one-off gig or maybe a small tour," he told BBC. "It's our 30th anniversary next year, so we may do something."

The band is best known for their quintessential 1980's hits like 'Karma Chameleon' and 'Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.' Since breaking up in 1986, the band has reunited twice, with a tour in 1998 and a 20th anniversary concert at Royal Albert Hall in 2002. "Last time we re-formed, there was a point to it," Boy George said. "We'll see. It's all about my mood at the time," he added.

Lead singer Boy George, born George Alan O'Dowd, has been plagued with bad press in recent years for his run-ins with the law. In 2006, he was ordered by a judge to clean the streets of New York City as community service, and in 2009 he served four months in prison on assault charges.

But he wasn't eager to talk about that in his radio interview on Monday.

"Please don't ask me about it," he said when asked about the conviction. "Why should I [explain]?" he continued. "They [the listeners] don't need to know what I did."

They Should Cut at least an EP before its too late... there are still fans out there that care... I was just reading that Skee-Lo the "I Wish" guy just dropped and EP out of the blue for no reason and its getting great reviews... they should do something and im sure the band members would appreciate the checks... reunion concerts can get redundant... their music was good and boy georges solo stuff was decent too... they still have it in them...and the LBGT movement is stronger than ever... im sure there are people out there that would buy and love to see them.

Some people would be interested in a Culture Club reunion (including me) and if they reunite it will be for the sake of themselves and those who are interested. I still listen to a lot of their songs and would love to hear them perform. Those who are not interested should speak for themselves and not watch or listen.
