Latest 'Pirates' Movie Looking For Natural Women

These days in Hollywood, it seems as if everyone has had some kind of surgical enhancement to give them a little extra oomph. However, Disney is bucking the trend of hiring augmented actresses, requesting that only women with natural breasts apply for a role in the latest installment of their 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise.
The
New York Post is reporting that Disney has specifically requested that no actresses with breast implants apply for a role, and that the company will even ask actresses to jog in front of casting directors to prove that their breasts are real.
The casting notice allegedly requests: "Beautiful female fit models. Must be 5ft 7in-5ft 8in, size 4 or 6, no bigger or smaller. Age 18-25. Must have a lean dancer body.
Must have real breasts. Do not submit if you have implants."
In the past, Disney has made no such request, allowing both actresses with artificial enhancements and less busty gals into the mix. Keira Knightley, who played the female lead in the first three 'Pirates' movies, said, "I am not that well endowed, so they literally painted in my cleavage. It took about 45 minutes every day for makeup artists to add shade and volume, and it looked fantastic until it got too hot shooting."
A spokesperson for Disney declined to comment.

YUK !
there are so many girls with implants nowadays, it's really awful. it seems like such a tragedy that in our culture young women are mutilating their bodies b/c of pressure to look pretty

It SUCKS that Knightly & Bloom won't be in the next movie. At least Depp and the guy who plays Barbosa still loves us!

Well, I would agree you about that, except the average height for women in that time period - around the 18th century right? - was from 5'1/2" to 5'2". And they are asking for inches taller than that.
It just seems degrading to have to jog in front of people to prove your breasts are real. But I'm sure they'll have women lined up to do it and that makes me a little sad.

I am 5'8" and a usually run a 4-6 in size and am by no means too skinny. I have a muffin top and still have a healthy bmi. A size 4-6 on a person that height is average looking, not heavy but not thin!

It depends on the person, I think.
Are you guys crazy? A size 12 at 5'7" is HEALTHY? Just because that's the 'average size' of an American woman doesn't mean that it's right.
My sister (who is a DOCTOR) is 5'6" and a size 2-4. She exercises and (for the most part) doesn't eat crap, and I wouldn't say she has an unhealthy BMI at all. She looks normal and healthy and lean.
A 5'5" woman at a size 8 is not 'horrible' as one poster claimed, but it is by no means unattainable.

On any other job, wouldn't it be sexual harrassment for women to have to run and have men see if their breasts bounce up and down so they can get a position?

I'm 5'9" and a size 4 and 135 pounds....I've never been told I'm too thin....if I weigh over 150 I would be considered over weight! Where are you people getting your information!!!

@Megan - According to the National Heart Lung and Blood Insititute website for someone 5'9" , which would be 69 inches, a healthy weight would be 128-169 lbs. This is a BMI of 19-25 which is considered 'healthy'.
That being said there are many people outside that range (thinner or larger) that are healthy, but all we have is this antiquity that is the Body Mass Index.
My God the chunkers who claim that size 12 is right for that height! My daughter is 23, a model, is size 2-4 naturally with 34 C cups and ripped abbs, and if you think that's unhealthy most of the human species does a double-take whenever she appears. Her mother had the same genes, and I was lucky enough to score them for my kids. Some people are just BETTER LOOKING with BETTER BODIES than others, period!

I have a twenty two year old daughter, and frankly, don't have the slightest idea what her cup size is or how "ripped her abs" are. Hey Daddy, this is bordering on creepsville.
I can not judge how healthy/unhealthy someone is based on looks alone. I have a friend who is very thin and has horrible cholesterol and high blood pressure and is on thre different types of meds.
I also have a friend who is very over-weight and has great blood pressure, low cholesterol and does not have any of the ailments people seem to think anyone her size would have.
I am glad you did not have a daughter who struggled with her weight, the pressures our society places on women to be pretty can cause great issues, including eating disorders, which I speak from experience.
I am happy your daughter is healthy and beautiful and hope she remains so.
What?? No Silicone Valleys need apply?? Good move.

Size 4 to 6 looks like 6 to 8 on film. I think its great that they arent expecting a size 1,2. I also think its wonderful that they are stirring away from fake boobs. Nothing wrong with wanting an example of women in shape. Plenty of statistics that even 20s lbs overweight isnt good for you. I am a natural size 9 and never ever ever wanted to be smaller or larger. But, if I was shooting a film, I would want most of the actors to set an example of taking care of your physical. Live long!

The article says Disney wants women who have a "lean dancer's body", and an 18-25YO dancer with any experience WOULD probably be a size 4 or 6. The camera adds 5-10 lbs, so a size 4 or 6 would look "normal" on film. This has nothing to do with societal standards; this is about a casting call. Disney knows what they're doing here. This is just like any other casting call: they want something specific, and they have a perfect right to ask for what they want. It isn't any different than any other casting call asking, say, for blondes who are 5'10-6'. If you don't fit their criteria, you can't attend the call. And if you don't like it, you don't have to see the film.

Disney is still practicing Sexual/Racial Discrimation. How about thinking outside the box for a change. American women are now in the overweight category, and if someone wanted to be employed by Disney, it would be extremely difficult to get a job. They are still looking for anorexic caucasians, with regular assets. Unfortunately, almost all the women in Hollywood will not pass this test. Due to Botox, Breast Reductions and Implantations, most of Hollywood will be exempt. If it's not O'Natural then how about the people at Disney being the only ones in attendance. They don't need the public money that much, or do they?
