Looks like NBC is taking its moratorium on TV appearances by Conan O'Brien pretty seriously. So seriously, in fact, that the network has refused to allow O'Brien to appear on 'American Idol's' charity special, 'Idol Gives Back,' according to the Hollywood Reporter. The special, which has raised millions for various charities, is set to air on FOX on April 21.
Conan's 'Idol' invite is not related to the ongoing discussions between the network and the comic for his own late-night talk show once NBC's ban is lifted in September. In the meantime, O'Brien will be honing his stand-up skills on a nationwide comedy tour beginning April 12 in Eugene, Oregon. Oh shut up. I've given generously to a number of charities for years and the only thing that ever happpens is they contact me and ask for more and more. Charities are a scam and Coco is a loser. Heck, so are you more than likely.
James, how embarrassing for you. Like, really. How embarrassing.
First off, its less the fact that he'll be donating money, and moreso the fact that its the IDEA and fact that the event he is being held from is a Charity event, regardless of whether its a "scam". (Because FOX would realllllly risk people finding out about a CHARITY SCAM on their most popular show.)
Stop being a troll and get out of your mom's basement.
Conan, what a tool. He got kicked off of NBC, and good riddance.

NBC IS JUST SHOWING HOW SELFISH AND CHILDISH THEY ARE BY NOT LETTING CONAN APPEAR ON SOMETHING THATS FOR A CHARITY!!!
THAT'S WHY NBC IS A SINKING SHIP! FOX AND ABC ARE THE MORE SUPERIOR AND BETTER NETWORKS!!!

is NBC that afraid of conan that they won't even let him do a charity show? what wrong is he too popular in the 18-39 crowd. leno is loosing to david letterman in this age group and this is the group that advertisers are interested in. when conan had hi show he was betting dave in that age group

NBC is dysfunctional, at the least. How can they continue to abuse a good employee in this way? It's disgusting. I have been a Jay Leno fan, but let's face it, O'Brien is definitely being treated in a most shoddy manor.

This is SOO wrong. This is for charity and Conan's not being paid. I guess the only charity NBC wants Conan for is NBC. I would not be surprised if NBC gets boycotted over this.

I like Conan. He is a funny guy.

Watching ConAN is like watching paint dry. Or like listening to some SOB run their fingernails across a chalkboard. He's a troll. And NBC is just as bad for ever thinking they could dramatize up- an audience for him. NBC needs to be foreclosed on. As for ConAN- well, his days are numbered anyway.

Prison 8-10 for Conan, off air and censored. Maybe he can get a reduced sentence for good behavior. ;)

Well....NBC and Fox have an extremely contentious hate/hate relationship, mainly because Fox kicks their ass in the ratings. But to punish people in need by refusing to allow Conan O'Brien appear on a charity telecast is below despicable. I really hope people boycott NBC, not only because of the Conan thing, but because all their programming really sucks!!

It's simple, old people like Jay Leno and young people like Conan.
