A teen beauty queen who was featured on ABC's 'Wife Swap' two years ago is suing the network for $100 million, charging they framed scenes to "maximize her public embarrassment" by making her look like a spoiled brat. In court papers obtained by the NY Daily News, Alicia Guastaferro, 18, claims she has received death threats and harbors suicidal tendencies since the show, in which she offered, "I do feel sorry for people that are not gorgeous people." Watch:The episode focused heavily on Guastaferro, who is described as the "princess of pageantry" and is given presents every day by her parents, who keep a Christmas tree up all year. 'Wife Swap' centers on mothers from different walks of life switching places, but the lawsuit claims ABC spent too much time on the demanding teen and not the intended subject of the show: the wife, Karen.
Guastaferro says that since the airing she has had to transfer schools in upstate New York and has gone from the honor roll to being a special education student. It probably didn't help that during the show, Mrs. Guastaferro freely admitted -- and demonstrated -- how she does her daughter's homework. "She doesn't have time!"
"I feel the way to Alicia's happiness is, give her everything she wants. Don't give her any rules. Why upset her?" Karen boasted.
Another motive for the lawsuit may be the financial woes of the family.
Last November, Ralph and Karen Guastaferro pleaded guilty to felony money laundering charges stemming from a Canadian telemarketing scheme. Karen is also in hot water for not declaring wages at the family's glass-tinting business. According to a Buffalo News report, she faces up to 16 months in jail, while he could spend up to 57 months behind bars.

I feel sorry for people who don't have a brain in their head.

Touche!
The same hallucination that makes her think she's good looking is also the one that makes her think she's worth 100 million. Girlfriend's buggin. She hasn't got a snowball's chance.
From Honor Roll to special ed LOL Mom quit doing her homework?? Bleaches her hair to fit her persona ..DUMB Blonde ...frivolous fribolous idiot
By that you mean her mother/parents. They taught her to be this way.
Agreed.
She'd be more at home with a bag of oats and a spot in the 5th race at Aqueduct.
Oh, that's good! lol And a 100 million lawsuit?? Wow, she is a brat?
Really, all this lawsuit does is prove the point made by the other mom on the show....what a rude awakening for her that the world won't coddle her and give her everything she wants. She's been raised in a world where she is never told no, she has zero responsibility, and she's the center of her own universe. The problem with that though is that it's all a fantasy. In the REAL world, people don't like conceited little morons who think they rule the world with their whining and brainless behavior. The REAL world devours people like this, and her parents have set her up for a HUGE failure. This lawsuit proves she can't handle what the world is going to offer her once she's beyond the protective clutches of her parents. You really have to almost feel sorry for her. She can't help that she was raised by idiots who set her up to fail before she could even walk. Personally, I think such parents should be addressed as abusive because they've guaranteed an extremely difficult and unhappy life for their daughter with their over-indulgence, and they prevented her from ever really growing a brain by doing all of her school work for her. That's abuse in my book.
No brains and no beauty
That girl is a twit. What an idiot!
Wouldn't you love to see these tree stumps 30 years from now. Girl is working at Jack-in-the-Box because she didn't bother studying and living at home, with 2-3 kids, and sponging off them while they ponder their own stupidity.
Ditto!!!
LOL! This little princess is upset because she's seeing how others see her, and it ain't pretty. Reality sucks. And she's probably looking to extend her 15 minutes, and to get rich in the bargain. Good luck with that. That's probably why her family's in financial trouble...having to cater to her butt is expensive.
Gee, what I dont understand is how did THIS gal win any beauty pageant??!! She is NOT attractive at all. Maybe the contest was fixed or someone was bought off. And YES, what a spoiled, arrogant, clueless brat. SHE feels sorry for those who aren't gorgeous? What a joke!
she's super cute regardless of her mother's need to live vicariously through her.
Those parents created a monster. She meant exactly what she said. This is a frivolous lawsuit and that whole family is disgusting. I feel sorry for people who have no shame. They are blood sucking leaches.
One of the scary things about this is whole thing the 5% of people who said she has a case.... Proves she might actually win if they find a sue happy jury.. She should lose if the jury has an brains in it what-so-ever... She should also be made to pay all court costs and for the ABC attorney and every other cost for this ridiculous lawsuit.... Her parents are criminals and she is an embarrassment to the human race!
So, there really IS such a thing as the LOSER GENE!! So sad when it doesn't skip a generation!!
Sharon, you are correct. In this case both sets of parents are dysfunctional in different ways. Both set their kids up for failure in life as they move on to real life, which is no TV celebrity show. As for the beauty queen, looks like hers are dime a dozen today. What sets the women apart from the looks is personality and brains. I saw neither demonstrated in the video. It would be interesting to see the two families in fifteen or twenty years to see how the kids turned out. When you open yourself and family up to a TV Reality Show, you are looking for trouble from the beginning to the end. They want stuff that will get people to watch their show. That isn't the mom, God, Country and apple pie stuff. If this mess gets to a trial and I doubt it will, I'd sure like to be on that jury.
