Dennis Hopper Too Sick for Chemotherapy, Court

Shocking new court documents report that actor Dennis Hopper is too frail to undergo chemotherapy for prostate cancer and that the ongoing -- and increasingly nasty -- divorce battle with his wife Victoria has drained his savings.

His attorney, Joseph Mannis, states in the filing -- obtained by TMZ -- that because Hopper is so terminally ill, he is unable to defend himself in divorce proceedings. "It is doubtful that Mr. Hopper will ever recover sufficiently to be subject to a deposition," one of the actor's doctors declared.

The document reportedly lists Hopper, 73, as weighing a little more than 100 pounds. In previous court filings, Hopper had expressed hope that chemo would improve his condition enough to work again.

The main contention with his wife of over 14 years is over the amount of spousal support he believes he can afford. In the legal documents, Hopper states he is capable of paying her $5,000 a month, but no more. Because he is unable to work, the actor's finances are stagnant and his accountant states his liquid assets total about $300,000.

"Hopper has basically lived on income derived from new acting services," his CPA reportedly wrote.

Victoria does not believe Hopper is in financial peril, however, claiming he has earned millions in recent years by selling his artwork. He claims that in the last 9 years he has only profited $45,000 from the sales.

Hopper filed for divorce in January. The divorce has also been tripped up by Hopper's requests for visits with the couple's 6-year-old daughter.

Dennis was a great character actor ... As I believe that he's been friend's with Neil Young for many decades now , even if Dennis has indeed squandered his money away ,( somewhat doubtful ), I truly hope that , behind the scenes, ... Neil & his family would offer some financial assistance to Dennis so that he may exit our Earth in peace ...

wait, you people need to read the entire story which started months ago..

He and his wife were doing fine, until his daughter from a past marriage cam into the picture and started whispering that the wife is sucking him dry.. No proof, But the little daughter was afraid the wife would get someof her money and within a few days. out of nowhere he stataes he wants a divorce and tells her to get out of the house..

I think he was too sick at the time with his daughter to make any plans..

His wife of 14 years has been by his side since he has been sick, taking care of him..

So read everything before anyone starts blasting this woman

I cant believe that all these old dudes w/ younger wives agree to fathering a child @ age 67.!!! Dont they realize that the child will be left to grow up w/ only one parent at some point. HOW STUPID!!! where's the birth control

Too late, he is too sick to divorce her, so she will end up as his widow and automatically get whatever is in his prenup, if he had one. If there was no provisiion if she was still his wife when he dies, she will get whatever the state allows. This gold digger, who is keeping him away from his daughter, is trying to hold on until he is gone. If she gets nothing, the daughter will be entitled and she will oversee her money. She is good. No daughter could make a man get a divorce and where did the money go, he didn't spend it all by himself.

A talented actor. Don't know much about his personal life but am sure like most celebraties its colorful with alot of drama. There is two sides to every story, and what's the big deal about the money when Dennis is moving on

The point is, he earned every penny of it. If they are that broke, she should go out and get a job. I agree there are two sides, his money and her no money. But, I guess you get what you pay for and these old guys will never learn, that beauty will cost you. You can get quality in a wife or a lovely arm ornament, but the ornament costs a lot. She will wait until he dies and live off his royalties, if she gets them, memorabillia, etc. They never stop taking even after the old guys are dead. But let Anna Nicole Smith be a lesson to the young arm ornaments, some of those old foxs are really slick and you end up with little or nothing.

First of all he started the divorce, not her, which is pretty ugly why now? I wish him the best, but I think he's a jerk, for wanting todivorce her after 14 years.
