It seems Donny Osmond won't be returning Lady Gaga's calls anytime soon. Access Hollywood reports that the entertainer took to the airwaves of his radio show to add his two cents about a heated debate on where to draw the line when it comes to Lady Gaga's self-branded "performance art."
"I'm all for freedom of speech and against any form of censorship, but all I know is that I'm a parent and I'm upset about this," Osmond stated.
He goes on to blaming the music industry for lack of responsibility in an age where parents find it increasingly difficult to police every bit of information their children are exposed to.
Osmond has these final words for Gaga and her partner in crime, Beyonce: "I wouldn't want my child to watch this video. Would you? What do you think? Should these two extremely gifted female role models for millions of young girls, maybe, have given a little more thought to the effect it might have on their core audience?"
Gaga and Beyonce go above and beyond in 'Telephone'. The nine-and-a-half-minute video picks up where the clip for 'Paparazzi' ended -- in prison. From there, it gets even wilder, with plenty of Gaga and Beyonce's trademark dance moves and outrageous outfits, as well as an intense fight scene, poisoning and references to movies like 'Kill Bill' and 'Thelma and Louise.'
Gotta agree with Osmond on this one, I have young nieces & nephews & no-I would not want them watching this 9 minute piece of trashy violent nonesense. These two women have talent & no class. They want to look & act like strippers & promote violence knowing they have a large young fan base. It's irresposible. You wanna act like a fighting jello stripper-get paid like one. Give your millions to charity.
I'm kind of wondering where is the talent. I didn't think Beyonce would even need a video like this. And as far as Lady Gaga, after all the gimmicks and costumes, what else is left. She can sing pretty good but you don,t even notice with all of the unnecessary junk. Thank God for Patti LaBelle.
I liked the artistic aspect of it...the colors, costumes, wardrobe art... however I didn't care for the violence, the over kill on sexual images, both are absolutely uneccessary and WHO is allowing WHAT child to view iether one of these two as a "role model"? Parents should teach their children what is real life and what is fictional, OR which life style is best in their ideal. This video is 100% fictional. If you raise your child the best you can then you don't have to worry. They'll look up to you, or who ever raised them best, as a role model, not some actor they see on tv. Just do your best. No one is or will be perfect =]
Donny, we are with you, my daughter open this video and inadvertently opened up several disturbing and offensive videos of women having sex, linked to this song. While it may be acceptable for adults to see these videos, young children are being introduced to her erotic videos and that is unaccepatable, my four year old so called it "ladies cochina" in Spanish he called them "women doing dirty things". I want my son to speak great things about women not "ladies cochina" Boycott this video.
How about you be a parent and don't let your daughter open the video? Clearly, this was not made for 4 year olds, and shame on you for letting them watch it. It is not the artists responsibility to parent your child.
It is a shame that these two talented ladies felt that they had to resort to sex and violence in this video/song/lyrics. No wonder some kids turn toward violence, drugs, sex and manipulation; they are being taught that it's cool. Any positive influence out there? Parents, speak up!!!
The lyrics aren't violent, actually. While the video is violent and exploitative, it's done with a point and to the point of being like a cartoon. Chill.
What influence did he have on his nephew? Kids, regardless of how you raise them, will learn things and it's the parents responsibility to teach them the difference between wrong and right, not society.
The best thing you can do for your kids to to be a parent 24/7, not just when your home from your gigs.Maybe he could try that and stop expecting the rest of us to raise them for him. They are his responsibility not anyone's else's, and yes, like it or not, and I don't like Gaga, it is her right to express herself and don't even start messing with our bill of rights. Stay home and raise them...
Go Donny! People with actual talent get to keep their clothes on. Apparently these ladies didn't get that memo. We are all very tired of the sensationalism for cash. Enough already.
I definitely agree with Donny; even though I think he is corny but this is how the media has made him to be. Lady Ga Ga and Beyonce's video is disgusting and is beyond just a work of art as she would say it is. They know full well that the imagery being used will corrupt little children; people should be up in arms about this. It has nothing to do with the song, Lady Ga GA act about just being different is not real. She uses the trick about being different to rope children in who think shes cool then she introduces them to sadistic images of sex and torture. What is going on in music nowadays? I remember my mother almost had heart failure when one of the rappers cursed. Now all you hear is curse words and gratuituous sex acts orgies and such. Children look up to these singers so what are they trying to portray? I do not want to get to say to much about relgion but alot of the imagery from this video and past video are satanic. Why can you log onto aol or youtube and watch the video? Shouldn't it be censored for only adults? Let children be children already and keep their innocence!
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

I couldn't agree more. Yes give it to a Charity. It is an absolute shame that our Country makes decisions based on Greed First.
When will the pendulum turn back to a better place for Humanity?!

The "Music" is garbage, but my goodness that Beyonce is attractive.
Give it to charity? Really? Why don't you give your money to charity? Idiot.
I agree with Donny. This video is in bad taste and to me is
nothing but pure B.S.

Good point about parents being parents and role models and explaining that these people aren't role models.
That was disgusting. But, not any worse than most other TV shows.

Two words for you "parental control." They are there for a reason - use them.
