Glenn Beck Rips James Cameron and His 'Smurf-Murdering Movie'

No one watches 'Titanic' expecting the ship to stay afloat, and no one insults Glenn Beck without anticipating a retort.

"I did call James Cameron the Antichrist, and I contend that he may be, but only because of the Celine Dion song [in 'Titanic']. Horrific," Beck said on FOX News, his usual sardonic air intact. "But the best part is, this guy has carried this joke around with him for three long years. The guy's making a billion dollars on a Smurf-murdering movie and he's stewing about a joke that nobody heard on a network that nobody watched. I mean, c'mon, really? It's time to walk away from the CGI just for a minute, Jim."

Initially confused by Cameron's remarks, Beck acknowledged they had met, but not much was said. "I think I was just like, 'Hey, you're the 'Titanic' guy,'" Beck said. He then realized Cameron's Antichrist gripe was from a show three years ago. "He hates me, and not because of what I said in person."

In 2007, Beck spoke about 'Titanic,' suggesting "only pure evil could have directed that film, or perhaps, yes, even the Antichrist."

The 'Avatar' director lashed out at FOX News' ever-controversial star at a press conference supporting the film's DVD release earlier this week, saying, "Glenn Beck is a f*****g a**hole. I've met him. He called me the Antichrist and not about 'Avatar.' He hadn't even seen 'Avatar' yet. I don't know if he has seen it." Later, Cameron called Beck "dangerous" and his ideas "poisonous."

Beck concluded his on-air response by calling attention to Cameron's comments about gunfighting with opponents of global warming. "I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads," Cameron was quoted on Beck's program.

"Oh no!" Beck said. "Since he took my Antichrist joke so seriously, I guess I have to ask, James: Stop threatening to shoot people in the street."

I can't beleive that some people really think that Beck is true news or anything thats on FOX. All they do is to inflame emotion to incite violence. You are so blinded to see this. Open you eye!

Mr Beck I do not believe in your cause and I do not believe you are religious, not much separates the religious right from the Taliban who both want to shove there beliefs on us. To be part of the American religious right and your disciple you must believe in torture ( water boarding ect ) mass murder ( illegal wars )kidnapping ( the CIA was tried and convicted in France for kidnapping and sending people to a third country for torture. and the hubris five percent that lie steal and cheat in order to have ninety five percent of the wealth in this country.

I would like to address two Beck "truths" I have seen mentioned on these boards. For the record, I am a 72 yr old educated upper middle class white female who has worked for large corporations and for several universities.
1- "Obama must be a racist because he attended a church that preached anti-white propaganda." Please. What planet have you folks just arrived from that you think that the United States treats blacks equally to whites? Slavery has been over for 125 years and Jim Crow has been gone for 50, yet we are STILL mired in racism in this nation. I have seen it in every state I have lived in, and at every job I have worked. This country has a LONG way to go in race relations, and if a church preacher says that from the pulpit, he is only guilty of telling the TRUTH. Perhaps what people like Beck are worried about is that someone like Obama might just try to level the playing field a bit more. Good for Obama. It is way past time for it.
2- "Obama supports criminal organizations like ACORN". Same issue, different approach. ACORN does several things, but what it is mostly known for is employing street people and college students to register indigents. Even though you might not like it, even a homeless crackhead gets a vote in this country. That's how it works. How many of you would like to go back to the original ground rules set up by our Founding Fathers...that only college educated, land-owning, white males were permitted to vote? I didn't think so. Unfortunately, sometimes an ACORN employee will get lazy and make up fake information to make it seem like he was out working all day. Or maybe through no fault of his own he runs into a bunch of frat boys who think it is funny to pretend they are not registered voters, and who then fill out a bunch of silly registrations for Mickey Mouse and Atilla Dehun. The FACT is, that NONE of these fake registrations ever has ended up as a fake VOTE. None. Yes, ACORN was funded by the government. So is the Census. It is important to offer ALL Americans the opportunity to exercise their RIGHT to vote...no matter what their color or whether they live in the Hamptons or in a box under a bridge. The American Vote is the great equalizer in this country, and that does not need to change.
