Whitney Port Sued Over Clothing Line

There's drama on-screen and off for fashion designer Whitney Port. Designer Adrienne Baravetto is suing the star of 'The City' and her company, Whitney Eve, claiming that she helped create the line back in 2007, PEOPLE reports.

Baravetto says that she and Port had an oral agreement, which included a yearly $80,000 salary and 25 percent stake in the company, then named Eve & A. She alleges that virtually all the design credit belongs to her, but still has not been paid.

Port's lawyer called the lawsuit "baseless and without merit."

"Whitney Port is, and always has been, the designer of Whitney Eve," her lawyer continued. "Baravetto worked for Whitney Eve for a short period of time ending in early 2008. For more than two years, she has been silent. For reasons that we will uncover, she has decided to make these unsubstantiated allegations at this time."

Baravetto's attorney gave his own statement regarding the lawsuit. "Ms. Baravetto did the heavy lifting for these designs and she just wants to get paid fairly," he said.
