Roger Ebert and Thumbs Plot New 'At the Movies'

Just as his old show, 'At the Movies,' was being
canceled, Roger Ebert announced Thursday that he and his wife will produce a new review-focused program called 'Roger Ebert presents At the Movies.' The reviewer
writes on his blog that while he can't divulge many details yet, he can reveal that his famous "thumbs will return."
Ebert says he knows who the potential hosts will be and that he'd like to make occasional appearances on the air; however, "I'm not foolish enough to believe any form of back-and-forth debate is possible, but I could do Great Movies segments, or a wrap-up" of big events like film festivals and awards.
He adds: "With all the publicity about me 'getting my voice back,' some people have the idea that a computer program has magically allowed me to speak again. That will never happen. I type, and the words come out. No one can type fast enough for conversational repartee."
Disney-ABC Domestic Television announced Wednesday they will cease producing 'At the Movies,' which Ebert and the late Gene Siskel hosted for years.
Current co-host A.O. Scott of the New York Times spoke briefly with Moviefone after the decision was announced, saying he was disappointed yet "not entirely surprised" by the move. "I think the demise of this show is not because there's a declining appetite or interest in criticism, or criticism on TV or video. I think it has to do with the changing media landscape and the different platforms" available to consumers of movie reviews.

Roger can use his segments to spout all his liberal political venom.

All my years watching Roger Ebert & Gene giving thumbs up or down he didn't spout out liberal political venom and either with Richard Roper either. I don't care that he is a liberal he didn't show it when he was on TV with his movie reviews.
I think it's awesome that Roger Ebert is going to have movie review show and bring back thumbs up or down because that was so iconic.
