White House Crashers Heading to 'Housewives of D.C.'
By PopEater Staff Posted Mar 26th 2010 10:25AM
The legendary White House crashers, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, will be making headlines once again as the "most visible members" of the upcoming Bravo series 'The Real Housewives of D.C.,' The Daily Beast reports. While their escapade last November raised their profile, it was also their ticket onto the reality show. Bravo cameras were filming the Salahis when they crashed President Barack Obama's first state dinner -- a security breach that reportedly got presidential Social Secretary Desiree Rogers fired. Even though Bravo is keeping the series under wraps until its scheduled debut in July, the Salahis have reportedly already shot all 12 episodes of the premiere season.

The couple is contractually prohibited from talking about the show, but are set to sit down with 'Today Show' host Matt Lauer on May 27. They plan to explain the "misunderstanding" about the White House invitation that turned their lives upside down.
They appeared on the 'Today Show' back in December to clear up rumors that they had crashed the White House party in order to land a spot on the Bravo TV show. During the interview, they claimed to be "devastated" when they awoke the morning after the party to discover the media had labeled them the "White House party crashers." Everything they had worked for, they said, "was destroyed."
The Salahis were not prosecuted following the incident -- a blessing for Bravo executives who can now edit the couple's "audition footage" and air it during the premiere episode.
The 'D.C.' show was absent from Bravo's slate of new shows because the network also decided to move forward with 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.' A Bravo spokesperson told The Daily Beast she had "absolutely no announcement beyond the fact that we're doing the show and the production process continues."
The couple are also working on a new tell-all book, literary agent Sharlene Martin told The Daily Beast. Martin reveals the couple plan to try to set the record straight and promises, "People will be surprised when the truth about the Salahis is finally told."

What is this fascination that we Americans have with putting turds on television? These two clowns; Rod Blagojevich (and his useless wife); two things called Tia Tequila and "I Love New York;" Flava Flave; the toilet bowl-clogging gang of Jersey Shore.... How about putting people with actual talent on the air? And if you can't find any, then just show a blank screen.

There is very little to say anymore. American values, the level of intelligence and what is accepted has and will continue to digress to the mediocrity of our being nearly labotomized. We may as well legalize all drugs- in fact supply and promote its use, glorify every criminal, self promoting sleazu pimp and whore, impart to our children that education, aesthetics, ethics and moral fiber mean nothing and to aspire toward anything other will find them as mere society outcasts. It's over, it's been over for some time.

These people are so inane. Peopple who tell the truth would have their invitation and be showing it to Matt and not need any of the attorney's involved. They are really crazy.
Not sure which one is the leader- she has bad weaves but is highly maintained. He seems like the whipping boy.
Final minute is they are con artists. Matt is great and he knows they are cons....

snowmassy,
I agree totally.
It's getting out of hand, these reality shows and what they stand for.
What an example for the children, being rewarded after breaking the law or at least doing something that they knew was wrong.

Amazing! You can break the law and be rewarded with a TV show and make millions! And don't think people won't watch it. Our society has already reached the moral basement. How low can we go? Keep watching. With the worthless FCC doing nothing, and the ACLU protecting "our rights" to say anything we please, we are heading for our own Armageddon.

I love how this country rewards negative behavior. Great to raise kids and teach them right from wrong and then have them see all kinds of negative behavior rewarded. No wonder we are in the toilet.

These are simply lesser robertsons and falwells.

Wow, who are the networks listening to, Main Street or Wall Street? They don't get it, we abhor EVERYTHING about these people and their lifestyle! Wake up producers, we don't want to see people like this !!!

So now all you have to do to get a tv show is be a moron? Bravo should be ashamed of themselves. Better yet, put Kate Gosselin and the cast of 'Jersey Shore' on the show also, and you'll have all the jackasses together.

Wow. Jealous much?
They got an invitation. That is why they went. If it was a mistake, it was a mistake made by the person making the list in the first place (a white house employee). They even said they fired someone over it. Also don't hate on rich people, some of them came from nothing and had to work harder than all of you to get where they are.
You people really only read/hear what you want, in between the lines. lol. It's kind of crazy to be honest, like it reminds me of mental patients. They live in their own little world and can't identify with logic like a regular person.

I agree with You!

Larry King said it best ........there is nothing criminal they did, they went to a party, there names were announced, and they weren't asked to leave.
they weren't invited if you can read the are fraud and will pay so read the news maybe will change your mind
"Hugh is wrong as well as he is lying about and me he is the real moron that doesn't know what he is talking about my profile which he has never seen before Hugh is a troll that has no life what so ever. Your wrong Hugh and thats a fact." -- Thanks for proving my point. BTW, it's spelled YOU'RE, genius. Hahaha...
