Pop-Ed: Where Is Angelina Jolie Hiding Her Nanny?

For the last few weeks, celebrity magazines have been filled with photos of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their clan of children taking in the sights of Venice. The gang is staying in a 15th century palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal, while mommy shoots 'The Tourist' with Johnny Depp.

We've seen countless images of the four oldest kids enjoying gelato with their parents -- while the twins presumably nap under the charge of one, or many, nannies. But we may never know for sure, because the sextet are never photographed with a nanny.

It's almost inconceivable that Brad and Angie single-handily care for six children aged 8 and under, considering their high-profile careers. Both parents are working actors who spend what little free time they have traversing the globe for humanitarian causes. Last September, Angie visited Somali refugees in Kenya, and the following month, Iraqi refugees in Syria. This February she was in Haiti after the earthquake.

I'm certainly not faulting their obviously deep and passionate commitment to refugees and children all over the world, but as a mother, it bugs me that they feel the need to orchestrate the illusion that they don't employ any nannies to help them with their brood.

As PopEater's own Rob Shuter notes, "No one in Hollywood controls her image more ferociously than Angelina Jolie. If she doesn't want you to think something she makes sure you don't see her doing it. Her passion for children is a huge part of her brand. Angie takes extraordinary measures to make sure the public never see all the help she gets raising her own kids."

And while we're at it, Suri Cruise, one of Hollywood's most photographed tots, is rarely seen without mom Katie Holmes. I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure that there is a nanny at Chez Cruise.

These celebrities are creating a charade that makes non-celeb moms feel inadequate. Angelina Jolie makes movies, has great hair, flies around the world performing good deeds, gets to go home to Brad Pitt and has six adorable tykes -- and does it all with no help. Yeah right!

Dr. Margaret Lewin, medical director of Cinergy Health, says that there is nothing wrong with having help to raise your children.

"Just as we send our kids to school, we can also share our child's care with competent and caring people who broaden our children's experience and enrich their lives," she says. "The assistance of a nanny, baby sitter or family member gives a child more life experience than a single caretaker. Mother's shouldn't read too much into a single picture or snapshot from a celeb mom's day, because one photo doesn't reflect a 24 hour time frame, it only reflects a second in it."

In their next interview, I hope Brad or Angie admit that they have help, or that we soon see some splashy photos of Shiloh and Zahara holding hands with a nanny as they gobble down all that gelato.

Both Angelina and Brad have said they have nannies to help them. In fact, they have FIVE nannies when they travel: one for each child and one for the twins. They have never denied having help. Perhaps you missed that particular interview. Maybe the nannies aren't seen because they don't want to be seen. I seriously doubt Angelina is "hiding" the ladies who she has hired to help her with the children.

Can I just say going the other direction.. WHat is WRong with NOT having a nanny with six kids?? Specially if the 2 of them are with the children. There are more families in America that have 6 children than just Brad and Angelina,and I would take a chance at saying most don't have a nanny! Now, they may hire a babysitter so they can have a night out together now and then, but then again, in THIS economy..if you have 6 kiddos, you may not be able to hire a babysitter.. My daugther has 6 childen ages 9 and under ..all singleton births! and she is divorced and caring for them mainly by herself.
I also noticed that in some of those pics of the Pitts with their children, there is usually a security person, or an extra standing around,..I'm sure they even give them a hand when needed ... So take a deep breath.. they don't have to have a fulltime nanny with only 6 kids!

Okay. Without knowing what any of these people are about in real life we can't say what their motivation is. But why ask the question "Why does ANGIE hide the nanny?". What about Brad? Isn't he also a parent who has some say? Also, how do we know that these celebrities just don't want their nannies faces all over the tabloids? Does it have to be part of some grand conspiracy ? Or maybe the nannies are hired to look after the kids and not be part of photo ops.

It is my firm belief (and this article/writer) backs me up, that Writers, photographers and the media are unequivicably negative, spiteful, gossipy, envious, derisive, antagonistic, and narrow minded; all qualities of the "Anti-Social" (against people) personality. As many posters have already pointed out, Brad and Angelina have said they have nannies multiple times, most recently in VF last year, and then again, when Brad discussed it on Oprah. Angelina was with a nanny and her twins just two days ago, as this site is very much aware since they have the pictures on this site. So one has to wonder just why Nicki Gostin is attacking Angelina Jolie? You can't just lie to readers/visitors to your site, as they have the same tools to verify your assertions that you do - and can call you out on your LIES in short order themselves. That means you ruin your own credibility, and decrease traffic and hits. How moronic.

Also, contrary to what Popeater would have you believe, men are responsible in raising their children too. Popeater is in the habit of accusing ONLY Angelina of perceived transgressions, and it illustrates just how deep Popeater is in the pockets of some of the biggest PR flacks around.

Here's something they might want to consider, it's best to side with those on top - and it's best to not tick off millions of fans who will set about blacklisting you (see JJB, JJ's, Yahoo) as being a viral laden cheerleader for Rachel Green, and a constant demonizer of Angelina.

It's so bad, it appears you don't even care when you publish erroneous material that can be disproved with a quick Google search. You don't care about accuracy, truth or facts Ms Gostin - but only, that what Popeater posts is FULL of malicious intent, and smearing.

So it's like this --

You (Popeater) are being actively BOYCOTTED as of NOW: The millions of fans that keep the Jolie Pitts on top in message boards across the web will be contacting Gilt group, moviefone, and any other sponsors or advertisers we see you working with. We are encouraging no one visit this site. If we see the name Nicki Gostin in print outside of Popeater or attempting any other endeavor - we as a group, will forwad this article as well as any others to potential employers/collaborators and let them know just how DELIBERATELY erroneous, shoddy and vindictive these attacks are.

It's time some of you in the vile gossip trade learned, LYING and SMEARING others is NOT without consequences to YOUR livelihood.

Dumb article - recyles two old tabloid themes into one "new" article: (1) Angelina is obssessive and controlling about her image and (2) Angelina and Brad hide the fact that they use nannies. I'm not sure either one of these is true. I've read all about their fleet of nannies before so, obviously, someone knows about them. If you were their nannny, would you want to be papped? You don't have a stylist, your job is not to be in the public eye, you've been hanging with the kids, doing activities kids like to do - which probably has you looking less than your best. For what possible reason would you want to appear in the tabloids? Also, if your image/name was out there, people could more easily identify you to try and get personal information about the family. I don't understand why you think they should be photographed with their nanny?

the children are taking care of and loved by there Mom and Dad
if they have outside help thats fine...you just look for something nasty to write about...How about writing something nice.

Didn't Ms Jolie announce that she was taking some time off from working to raise her kiddies? Seems that every week or so we read that she & family are on location because of her next movie. Those kids grow up sooo fast that both she & Brad will be missing some of their childhoods Pay attention to what's important.

The fact that they do have nannies aside; I think it's weirder to assume someone HAS to have a nanny to get by with kids. If I had Angie's money, I would hire someone to throw wardrobe togther or do my hair before I would hire a nanny. I love being with my kids.

So, in your mind - NANNY + KIDS = MOM/DAD DON'T LIKE TIME WITH KIDS; Hmm - when my dad was stationed on one of the Naval Carriers and gone on the normal six month battle training manuevers in the Med and mom was working fulltime, brother and I had a nanny until mom came home (not a good idea to leave young kids unattended, in case you did not know) - when dad returned from cruise, he took 1 month off every year and took me, bro, and mom camping accross Europe. 4 years aboard a carrier - 4 years of 1 month camping trips exploring Europe - Best time of my life! You're just as id10tic as the writer!
