Pop-Ed: Where Is Angelina Jolie Hiding Her Nanny?

For the last few weeks, celebrity magazines have been filled with photos of
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their clan of children taking in the sights of Venice. The gang is staying in a 15th century palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal, while mommy shoots 'The Tourist' with
Johnny Depp.
We've seen countless images of the four oldest kids enjoying gelato with their parents -- while the twins presumably nap under the charge of one, or many, nannies. But we may never know for sure, because the sextet are never photographed with a nanny.

It's almost inconceivable that Brad and Angie single-handily care for six children aged 8 and under, considering their high-profile careers. Both parents are working actors who spend what little free time they have traversing the globe for humanitarian causes. Last September, Angie visited Somali refugees in Kenya, and the following month, Iraqi refugees in Syria. This February she was in Haiti after the earthquake.
I'm certainly not faulting their obviously deep and passionate commitment to refugees and children all over the world, but as a mother, it bugs me that they feel the need to orchestrate the illusion that they don't employ any nannies to help them with their brood.
As
PopEater's own Rob Shuter notes, "No one in Hollywood controls her image more ferociously than Angelina Jolie. If she doesn't want you to think something she makes sure you don't see her doing it. Her passion for children is a huge part of her brand. Angie takes extraordinary measures to make sure the public never see all the help she gets raising her own kids."
And while we're at it, Suri Cruise, one of Hollywood's most photographed tots, is rarely seen without mom
Katie Holmes. I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure that there is a nanny at Chez Cruise.
These celebrities are creating a charade that makes non-celeb moms feel inadequate. Angelina Jolie makes movies, has great hair, flies around the world performing good deeds, gets to go home to Brad Pitt and has six adorable tykes -- and does it all with no help. Yeah right!
Dr. Margaret Lewin, medical director of Cinergy Health, says that there is nothing wrong with having help to raise your children.
"Just as we send our kids to school, we can also share our child's care with competent and caring people who broaden our children's experience and enrich their lives," she says. "The assistance of a nanny, baby sitter or family member gives a child more life experience than a single caretaker. Mother's shouldn't read too much into a single picture or snapshot from a celeb mom's day, because one photo doesn't reflect a 24 hour time frame, it only reflects a second in it."
In their next interview, I hope Brad or Angie admit that they have help, or that we soon see some splashy photos of Shiloh and Zahara holding hands with a nanny as they gobble down all that gelato.

Angelina has never been with any co-star or co-worker while she is filming and she wasn't with Brad until his marriage ended. AJ has also never been promiscuous she was in a 2 year relationship in her teens and has stated she was celibate from then until she got with Jonny Lee Miller, her first husband. Just because someone says they love sex doesn't make then a sl*t.
And whose F'ing business is this anyway? Can people mind their own business for a change?

Regardless of how many nannies they have, they are phony fake people. I can't stand either of them.

How dare you pop-ed to classify yourself to be qualified to write such an article on parents. First of all parents do not
refer to their children as broods or clans. Only someone so small minded as the author of such an article would do so.
I don't think they are hiding the nanny, they are respectably
keeping her or he out of the public view to protect the nannies
privacy from the small minds of authors, the likes of you. And
to protect their children when they are in the care of the nannies. You have my sympathy for wasting your writing credentials on articles like this, that is assumming you have credentials. gg

They do NOT have one nanny per child. That was tabloid fodder. And they only had over night help for the first time when the twins were born.
In the beginning it was Holly who helped watch Mad and Zee. Then they hired an elderly looking woman to help. When Pax came they had two nannies.. the elderly woman and a Vietnamese nanny to help Pax learn English. So at the most they had three.. two daytime and then the night time nanny. And that was temporary.
Now they are back to one to two. And one was spotted on the balcony with Jolie and the twins just this week.

As a former Nanny I can tell you that a lot of these Mom's don't even know their own children or their needs. I've worked with both hands on and hands off Moms so it depends on the person. The saddest thing to me is when these celebrities treat their kid like pets and fire their Nannies for being closer to them than they are. Have you also noticed in how many of these pics of celeb parents the kids are dressed badly? No hats in bright sunshine or the Mom is dressed nice and warm but their child is in sandals with no coat. Ugh!

When Angelina and Brad go out in public with their kids its designed to be a photo op to show what a wonderful and loving mother and wife Angelina is and how much Brad adores Angelina and the kids. Its all about portraying Angelina in the positive light that she desires. Therefor, Angelina is going to be much more hands-on with the kids than she would be out of sight of the media. So, yes, they may admit to using nannies, and you may see one in a candid shot from time to time, but they are not going to be part of the picture in a photo op whose purpose is to stroke Angelinas ego and paint her as a super mom. Its all Hollywood smoke and mirrors.
And I agree that there is nothing wrong with people employing nannies to help with the kids. But it is a different story if they just dump the kids with the nanny or nannies and let them raise their children for them. And as Margie said, I often see celebs with their children in magazines with the kids dressed inappropriately for the weather conditions, or being toted around haphazardly, as if they were luggage or some other inanimate burden.

This is a ridiculous article. It's no secret that there are nannies helping with the children. Why should they be in photos? This is total fiction.
I guess you couldn't find anything else to criticize Angelina for and of course, couldn't write anything positive about the family outings in Venice.
Another question, which has been brought up by others -- why is Angelina always the villain? The one accused of "orchestrating" or other transgressions. Just because one person said it doesn't make it true.
The expression "a picture is worth a thousand words" applies to this family. The children look happy and healthy. But I guess that doesn't make a good Pop-Ed story.
