NeNe Leakes' Son Arrested on Weapons Charge

Bryson Bryant, son of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' star , was arrested Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance and carrying a weapon, a Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department official tells PEOPLE. Byrant was released from a Gwinnett County Detention Center early this morning.

This is the second arrest for Byrant this month. On March 7, he was arrested on a minor marijuana possession charge.

At the time, Leakes issued a statement stating, "My son is not the first young adult to experiment with marijuana, and he certainly won't be the last. Still, as parents, this is a chance for us to have an open dialogue with him about the dangers of any substance abuse. I realize as a parent that my job is never done. And as I've tweeted, tough love was in order."

Of his recent arrest, law enforcement officials told PEOPLE, "The charges say he was in possession of a controlled substance and weapon by jail inmates. That means he had a weapon with him when he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance."

Thats a sad situation but if you see the values most of these "Real Housewives" have and how some of them raise their kids its not surprising how they turn out.
Atlanta Kim's kids will undoubtedly be messed up
How good can NY Simon and Alex's kids turn out when they let the kids run hog wild?
And you already see the effects of oRANGE cOUNTY'S Lynn's kids.She raised them as "friends",spoiled them rotten, and now she has whiney rotten kids on her hands.

NeNe is going through what most parents go through when kids rebel, which they all do at one point of another; mine did a number as well, but there were no newspapers, internet, i-phones, so let's just pray her son doesn't take too long to get back on the right track. No snubbing, or acting high and mighty please.

I agree that she needs to take control and handle this issue. Hopefully she and her husband have taught him morals...so that even though he may stray from those morals, he will always have them and return to that which he was taught. But tell me..where in the world did you see that the weapon was a gun? There are many kinds of weapons

A weapon does not mean a 'gun'. It could be a pocket knife, which in some states are legal, but not in others. So don't jump to conclusions! It seems he is making mistakes, but he is still young enough to change and get himself together. Race is not the issue. Nene, don't blame yourself for his youthful stupidity. He is responsible for his poor choices. Hopefully he learns.
